I recently stayed at Monta Verde hotel with my family on a b&b basis.
When we arrived at the hotel our room was not ready, so they put us in a deluxe twin room for the first night which was spotlessly clean but a little loud from an air conditioning unit above the room. The next day they moved us to the room we were meant to be in, a standard room, which felt like it really needed a lick of paint and wasn’t as clean. The room was facing the main road so was quite loud during the night, so we asked to upgrade to a deluxe room for the rest of our stay. We were then moved to a deluxe garden room which was nicer and at the back of the hotel so much quieter, but lacked natural light (could do with more lighting in the room by the wardrobe for example) and had a slightly musty smell. The room was very small and did not have space for a cot so our toddler slept on a mattress on a ledge beneath the window with a cot mattress on the floor in case he fell out of bed (which he did twice!). We decided that although small it was better as he could play on the grass outside our room safely in the day time, otherwise we probably would’ve asked for one of the normal deluxe rooms which were much roomier and brighter. The beds in the rooms are very comfortable.
The pool was a real highlight, stylishly decorated area, and the kids pool was covered so kept them out of the sun. Lots of inflatables etc available for guests. The sun bed area is a bit of a sun trap so not much shade and other guests were putting towels down early on (despite signs saying don’t) on any sun beds that got shade.
We found that the reception staff were not particularly helpful and couldn’t give us tips on the local area (places to eat etc). On the Thursday night evening there was very very loud music coming from the pool area, it took me several hours to get my son to sleep and when I called reception to ask them to get the music turned down they told me it goes off at 11, as if I shouldn’t be complaining! I ended up walking up to reception to speak to them in person and still got a fairly disinterested response of “I’ll go and ask them to make sure they turn it off at 11”. The breakfast staff were all very friendly and would come and ask how our day was, and the owner also introduced himself and was very friendly. The cleaning staff were friendly as well, but I feel that they need a tick list of cleaning jobs as our toiletries were never topped up, not all the towels were changed everyday and they forgot to re stock our mini bar with complimentary water so we had to call and ask for it.
There was a decent amount of choice at breakfast, although we did find hairs in the food on two occasions and the hot breakfast options weren’t very nice. There’s a rotating pancake/scotch pancake/omelette station which was good.
The hotel is on a main road which is very difficult to cross, luckily most taxis crossed the road for us. There sadly weren't many Turkish food options, most advertised fish and chips, English breakfast etc.; however we found a nice restaurant called N Garden 3 blocks from the hotel off the main road. I’ve stayed down near the beach in Oludeniz before and would much rather stay there or in Fethiye if we visited again, as we relied on taxis a lot...
Read moreWelcoming and friendly staff from the second we arrived. Greeted daily by first name from the manager which is a very nice touch. We had a deluxe room on the top floor, beautiful space with a view of the back of the hotel, silent at night. Room had a little fridge with mini bar and complimentary water and toiletries when we arrived.|The hotel was beautiful to look at by night, I was so excited upon arrival, as was my 8 year old son! It certainly got better as we woke the next morning. Immaculately clean, wonderful varied breakfast with a lovely lady cooking omelettes outdoors. She deserves a mention, always smiling and complimentary despite the language barrier. The bar/wait/general staff were lovely. Particularly the short guy whose name I forget 🙈 who is amazing with kids and always had a smile on his face and time for a quick chat.|The pool was beautiful. Immaculately clean with lots of free floaties to use. My son loved it! We had guests visit us from their apartment a couple of times and they have decided they will also be staying here next visit. We all loved the comfy loungers and there were enough to go round, no scrambling for a space in the mornings! Staff walk around offering drinks often.|Some lovely guests at the hotel too, most I spoke to were repeat visitors and you can see why. There is is distinct focus on providing the best personal service and care. This is apparent. The complimentary Turkish tea and cake hour is a very nice touch. My son loved the cake! And the hotel cats!! And the pizza from il Ponte restaurant upstairs. |We are planning to return and I can’t wait! Well done guys, last minute decision to book a trip to turkey and so glad I came across this hotel. You made our holiday a...
Read moreWow what a lovely hotel, we booked this hotel very last minute and we certainly were not disappointed. |From the moment we arrived which was late in the evening, we were greated by lovely staff. |We were booked into a standard room and yes it was basic however it had everything we needed for our stay. The only downside was the chairs on the balcony as I'm prone to reading my book and having a few drinks late afternoon. The room was clean, fresh bedding and towels daily. Maids always friendly and do a great job. |We didn't spend a lot of time around the hotel as we like to get out and about to explore the local area. Our pool days were great, mostly spent at the quiet pool. Staff would pop round regularly to take drinks orders. Food in the resturaunt area was lovely, enjoyed a few lunches, especially the il Ponte Pizzas. |Breakfast was really good, typical Turkiye hotel breakfast, coffee was lush every morning. I really liked the fact that the owners were around always greeting you and reiterating if you need anything then don't hesitate to ask. |We really liked the style of the hotel and all the greenery that was well looked after. |Hotel is in a great location and in all the years we have visiting we have never used the Dolmus as much, visited Olu Deniz, Fethiye, Kabak, Babadag Mountain and Kaya all from the doorstep of the hotel. |Walked into hisaronu and onto the upper road of Ovacik where you can find some very nice dining experiences. |Beautiful hotel, gardens, wonderful friendly staff and a very chilled vibe.|Turkiye you didn't disappoint, this was our first visit to Ovacik and we would most definitely return to the area and this hotel. |Thank you to all the amazing staff and owners at the Monta...
