With deep regret I can only give this place 3 stars. I had just came here for 1 night after staying at Jiva (which is also a 5 star hotel). Sundia is a great place but I do feel quite concerned that this place is officially a 5 star hotel. 4 star hotel would be more appropriate, if it was stated honestly I would of given this place a 5 star review.
This place is certainly a 4 star hotel with a 5 star price tag, so with limited options in Fethiye I would still recommend it. I gave this place a 3 star mainly for one of the food issues we had.
STAFF were superb and very helpful. They did their best to accomadate us and were always very friendly and attentive. Ogur (reception) and Mustafa (waiter) held great conversation and made me feel at home.
LOCATION/POOL/ROOM Was great to be directly on the beach. Pools were good size considering the size of the property and my toddler enjoyed the childrens pool.
There was a slight stain on the footend of the bedsheet however we didn't mention it to staff as we forgot about it as we had a busy schedule (i am sure they would of fixed this if we had told them), so just make sure you check everything properly.
The entire hotel and room felt brand new so no complaints about the condition of the property.
I have no idea why the beach/pool towels are rationed out (we got given a voucher to only have 1 towel per a night) - i would expect this at a budget hotel. Also they were located in the spa area which is inside the building, usually in a 5 star hotel these would be available close to the pool area throughout the day.
CAR PARK it was great that the car park was close by (only accross the road from the entrance). However it was basically a empty building site with a terrible road surface and no lighting or marked parking bays.
FOOD AND DRINK The service and staff were brilliant and did their best to make us feel at home. I did feel that the main dish/sides options were limited, however there were a few stand out dishes which were great. The head chef was constantly on the dining floor ensuring the food never ran out. I was very dissappointed with the grill/mangal section, as there was only 3 options, the koftes were extremely basic and chicken shish was flat slices which made it extremely dry and flavourless (embarassing for a 5 start hotel in Turkey). There is a 24/7 bar in the pool area but would of been great if there was one on the actual private beach area.
The biggest dissapointment which ultimately lead to me giving only 3 stars was the snack bar. Between 4pm and 7pm the snack bar was closed. After post lunch swimming it would of been nice to have something available to eat, allowing us to have a late dinner. However the snack bar was closed and when asking a member of staff he sadly told us we would have to wait for dinner buffet at 7pm (I think even he realised how silly it was).
However, the story gets worse. After returning from a long night time stroll we returned to the hotel around midnight when the snack bar was actually open. The atmosphere was pretty dead (i soon learnt why). We ordered chips and chicken nuggets from the limited menu and we were served old chips and nuggets which had been rehested (must be leftovers from dinner). This was an extremely poor choice by the hotel, I don't know in which world a hotel can call itself 5 star and ultra-inclusive by serving leftover food. We couldn't even eat it and it tasted very stale. This seriously needs to be addressed by the management, absolutely disgraceful. I don't expect anything special at a snack bar but certainly don't expect leftover food.
PRICE i paid about 200 euros, which I feel was abit high considering the food reasons stated above, but its important to consider that there isn't many all inclusive options in Fethiye. So perhaps to some people this price may seem reasonable.
CONCLUSION i would stay here again if some changes were made based on my reasonable complaints above. I would recommend the management to review my reasons and they could certainly have a...
Read moreI was invited last minute to join my group of 14 friends to stay in Sundia. However, we may not have been their average demographic targeted guests. All 14 of us are black African and Caribbean plus Asian descent guests checked in at 5 am with such a warm welcome at reception (forgive me I have forgotten his name but the young gentlemen with a ponytail) and escorted and assisted very helpfully by J.J. to our rooms.
Our rooms meet sensational standards with sizeable rooms, top-range shower facilities entertaining Television with access to YouTube in addition to a fantastic view of the sea.
You will find a never-ending abundance of food of your choice for all meals throughout the day with traditional, local and international food full of flavour beyond what taste buds can imagine with options for gluten-free. It was here we meet the head Chef who we addressed that in our group we had 4 people who were vegan/plant-based and took care of us taking our numbers so we can message prior to meals how many will require a vegan meal taking it upon himself to ensure we did not feel left out when it came to time to eat.
I had never done Yoga but a friend and I decided to attend Berrak’s early morning yoga class just by the entrance near the seaside. She was gentle very good at guiding and brought calming relaxing energy that set you up nicely for your day. There was also water aerobics which I never took part in nevertheless the instructors and Berrak were simply amazing.
The private beach is just meters away from the hotel giving you the open sea with a private space, However, if you are a pool person like me you have 4 pools within the same area some shorter in distance and not as deep as others with another kids and toddlers size so the children can also jump into the lovely water. The main pool is where the life of the hotel and now my brother Mustafa brought tremendous energy, fun and enthusiasm with many group games to get everyone along and make new friends. Without Mustafa’s positive mentality and incredible acrobatic skills, the experience wouldn’t have been the same.
The majority of staff understood a good level of English and even if they do not speak the common tongue will go out of their way to ensure any situation you require fixing is dealt with. Which was also met with their interior store that had souvenirs, shoes, snacks and garments.
THE BAR! The heart of the hotel and where it always felt like home as it was a 24/7 bar which was all-inclusive has sensational bartenders in Aylin, İrem, Pelin and brother Barış who no matter what in the day brought beautiful smiles and made you the best cocktails around.
My only constructive criticism is some sort of indoor entertainment however upon being in level -1 I did see table tennis and a big space which I am sure management is working on putting games and utilising the space. I would recommend board games and maybe another games table (poker table, pool table)
On the same level as the big space on level -1, you will have a spa where you can part take in a traditional Turkish bath, massage of your choice and a sauna. The workers there are really experienced and know where to focus on your body that has the most attention and came out feeling like a brand new person!
If instead of relaxing you want to work out they have a gym there, I did not use it personally but some in our group did and said they had equipment that catered to their needs.
So you choose to come with a baby they have a toddler and baby day care of the sweetest nannies I have come across.
Evening entertainment is run by another Mustafa who was always happy to include everyone to join in the fun and let their hair down bringing live band entertainment that many could join and sing along or feel comfortable sitting and enjoying.
Sadly booked up every day we was there but the rooftop restaurant had an stunning sunset
All around the hotel had great space, good standard of...
Read moreWe visited this hotel last year and were so impressed that we decided to return this year — and once again, it did not disappoint.||Our sea view room was impeccably maintained by Zarife, offering breathtaking views and a well-stocked minibar replenished daily with water and refreshments. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the beautiful towel art that greeted us one afternoon. The housekeeping team demonstrated exceptional professionalism, working discreetly around guests’ schedules so that our room was always ready without interruption — a level of consideration that truly stood out.||The pool area was wonderfully tranquil, and the transition to an adults-only environment has made it even more peaceful than last year. The absence of children created a serene atmosphere, perfect for swimming and relaxation. Sun loungers were always available, regardless of the time of day.||The beach, located directly in front of the hotel, was equally enjoyable — clean, well-maintained, and never short of loungers. The sea was calm and inviting for swimming or snorkeling, where we spotted various fish just off the shore.||Service across the entire hotel was consistently excellent. Every team member worked tirelessly while still finding the time to engage warmly with guests, always greeting you with a smile. This genuine hospitality was a major reason for our return visit. We would like to extend special thanks to Sevda and Esra, who provided attentive service at breakfast, lunch and dinner and who took wonderful care of us each day. Also thanks to Eray, who was always on hand to assist, whether in the bar or restaurant, ensuring that nothing was ever too much trouble. ||The buffet dining experience was another highlight of our stay. The extensive selection included a wide variety of meze, salads, freshly grilled meats, and beautifully prepared dishes to suit all tastes. The quality of the food was consistently high, and the chefs ensured that the offerings were regularly replenished and maintained to excellent standards.||The bar service was equally impressive, with a wide range of drinks and cocktails available. If something wasn’t on the menu, the bar team happily created it for you. Special mention goes to Aylin at the lobby bar, whose strawberry daiquiris were some of the best we’ve ever had. Despite being busy, she always went above and beyond to ensure guests were well looked after.||Evening entertainment was enjoyable, offering a pleasant way to unwind with a drink. We also appreciated that Sundays were left free of entertainment, allowing for a quieter, more relaxed evening in the lobby bar. We were always given a warm greeting every evening from Umit, the night manager, who would always go out of his way to say hello and ensure we had everything we needed during our stay - an amazing level of service! |One of our favorite moments each day was sitting at the pool bar in the evening with a cocktail, watching the spectacular sunset — an experience not to be missed. ||Overall, we were delighted to find that the hotel continues to maintain such a high standard in every aspect. The exceptional level of service, attention to detail, and welcoming atmosphere have all remained consistent. It was especially heartwarming to see familiar faces among the staff, some of whom even remembered us from our previous stay.||We left once again with wonderful memories and will undoubtedly return...
