Payam Hotel — Hotel in Kaş

I recently stayed at Payam Hotel and had a deeply disappointing experience. The staff is incredibly rude when you bring up any issues. Their fake smiles and attitudes do nothing to mask their unprofessional behavior.A particularly disturbing incident occurred with the kitchen manager. This bold-headed manager with glasses (dont know his name) stopped and harassed me when I tried to get coffee after hours, despite the fact that I was paying almost $200 per night for a average hotel room. When I took this issue and this rude behavior to the front desk and asked why they couldn't offer a simple $1 coffee, they rudely replied, "Sorry, it is not between 5 to 6 pm, and that's the only time you get free coffee otherwise you have to pay." This is a service industry, and being polite and kind matters a lot. To the kitchen manager, I don't know your name, but it goes a long way to offer a free coffee to your guests instead of cutting them off and walking them out of the kitchen simply because it is not the free coffee hour. I have stayed in many hotels across different countries in my old age and have never met a cheap and stingy crew like this one.When I brought this incident to the attention of the front desk staff, they were just as dismissive, reiterating that free coffee is only available between 5 and 6 pm. I have never encountered such rude behavior in any part of the world.The prices are outrageously high for what you get. Also another major issue is, despite the extreme room fee they charge, The internet is painfully slow, reminiscent of dial-up speeds, making it impossible to get any work done. The hotel is also cheap when it comes to providing new shampoos and conditioners – once they run out, they don't get replaced.The water pressure in the shower is so weak that it’s almost impossible to take a proper shower. To make matters worse, the toilet seat in my room was broken, and the cleaning crew didn’t even notice, despite supposedly cleaning the toilets.The rooms have no telephone to call the front desk, so if you have an emergency, there is no way to contact anyone. You have to dress up, walk down all the stairs, and talk to them in the reception area. I learned my lesson the hard way because I ran out of toilet paper and had to walk all the stairs down, walk to the front, and ask for toilet paper. This is really not convenient at all. Additionally, this place is not old person friendly. It sits on a super high hill which is extremely tiring to walk up to, and the hotel doesn't offer any steps to the rooms.The rooms are super tiny. I am 6 foot 4 inches and 260 pounds, and it is incredibly difficult to move around in the bathroom. The room itself is extremely small. They advertise bigger rooms on the internet, which creates a misleading impression of the actual room sizes. This incident with the manager made us leave the hotel the next day because we didn't want to deal with such stingy and cheap hotel management. We found a way cheaper hotel down the hill with the same amenities offered, closer to the main attraction area for a fraction of the cost, and they had bigger rooms.Additionally, I reviewed all the 5-star reviews this hotel has, and something caught my eye. None of the Google reviews online are confirmed nor Google verified, which made me suspect that they might be fake. I have heard of hotels buying fake reviews from companies in Turkey to boost their ratings. I hope this is not the case, but based on my week-long stay, this is definitely not a 5-star hotel. It is just an old building with a bad makeover.For the exorbitant prices they charge, Payam Hotel offers a very basic and unsatisfactory experience. Save your money and look for other hotels because, for much lower prices, you get way better deals...

We booked two nights at the Payam Hotel in Kas. We booked an ocean front jacuzzi room with a balcony, which was worth every lira. The hotel’s location was very good with services located just a short walk away. ||The hotel has multiple small buildings that houses an outdoor vegetarian restaurant and an outdoor pizza place; both of which have ocean views. Breakfast is also served in the pizza place. The breakfast was excellent. In addition, there is a Japanese sushi restaurant next door at their sister hotel on the top floor, which boasts beautiful views of the city and ocean. ||Although not vegetarians, we gave the vegetarian restaurant a try. We ordered the Mac and Cheese and Beer Bites. Both dishes were very good. We also tried the sushi place, and it was average for us. ||Back to the room. The room was very clean and functional. As indicated, it had a clear ocean view. The housekeeping did a great job for us. We had a small issue with the in-room safe, so a staff member responded immediately and resolved it. ||Regarding the service, it was very good.
