The review that follows is based on my own experience of staying at this Hotel for the past 6 months, January - July 2023.|This has been my own experience and obviously other people will of had a different experience and hence view.|I've been staying at the Wyndham Grand Hotel Kayseri on business for the past 6 months. In my opinion for a long staying guest such as myself there a few issues that make unsuitable.|The main issues are:-||The Air Con doesn't actually work as Air Con should. It merely appears to blow the room temperature air around. It doesn't actually cool the air as it should.|In the hot Summer months this is a big issue for its difficult to rest and sleep on an evening.||The Door Lock - the card for my room seems to expire every 2 days maximum. I think one time a few months ago I actually got 3 days out of it, but that was a one off. Despite repeated attempts to repair/address this issue it still prevails today.||The location of the Wyndham makes it prone to being susceptible to a lot of noise which can happen when there are events hosted in the square opposite. In recent months there was a lot of noise due to the Turkish elections and there is now another stage that has been set up tonight, so it looks like I'm in for another noisy weekend.||Now for the main PLUS point - The Staff ! ....... in my experience they are very courteous and pleasant. They do their best to assist.|However I think what the problem is that the Hotel is now quite old and I think that the top level management of the Wyndham need to invest in upgrading the Air Con, Door Locks etc. I think that the staff do their utmost to address your issues but if the kit doesn't work then it doesn't work, that's it.||With some money invested in the building it would be...
Read moreAfter our last stay we returned a few weeks later and regret the choice. We arrived at 10:15 and made it down to get some food at just after 10:30. All the restaurants in the hotel were closed and the only choice of food was from the room menu. Having tried to order from the room, and failed, they hung up on me when they realised I could not speak Turkish. I had to go down to reception to place my order. Although this arrived relatively quickly it was missing a pizza because apparently they could no longer cook them at that time of night. Even though the original order was accepted by the kitchens. By this time we realised the air conditioning was not working. We rang down for technical help who when they arrived confirmed cold air was not possible and if we wanted the room cooler than 26, we should open the windows. Having asked at reception for help we were told we would get a different room, and should wait in our rooms for someone to come and help, 20 minutes later, no help and so we were down at reception again. This time being given the room keys ourselves. The night manager seemed unaware of his own hotel as despite assuring us otherwise placed us on a smoking floor. Another visit to reception and another room change. A nice upgrade but still no air conditioning. The only way to cool the room is to open the windows... For a supposedly high class hotel this is a joke, we eventually settled down at 12:30, hungry and suffering from listening to the traffic outside or sweating in a sauna. p.s in response to our previous comments this hotel is in keyseri not Istanbul
