Disappointed! Service should be improved! We chose to stay for 5 nights in 5 stars hotel in Kayseri on our vacation trip. We took the bus from the airport to the hotel and it was easy to get to the hotel from the bus stop so we decided to walk with 5 pieces of luggage when we arrived at the hotel we saw the hotel staffs were standing inside the building and looked at us through the glass door without any help we were looking for them to help but no one until we took all of the luggage inside by ourself. Next, The process of check-in went well with the detail of the Covid-19 screening and we got 2 key cards up to the room and we were very Surprised! that the bedroom was nice with the furniture decoration that we need for our long stay. The hotel location is very good we can see snow mountains from our windows and surround with shopping area but we had 2nd bad Surprised that the bathroom was not cleaned up! How can we make sure that this room already cleans up? we are not early check-in, it was about 4-5 pm. So, we called the reception to ask about this without any upset voice because I tried to understand their miscommunication! then they changed the room to another floor for us. When we got to the new room, we fell down when we found that the room has no sofa but we were so tired from the long flight so we didn't call them again. After that, we had a problem with the wifi because it was very slow and they sent the technician came to our room to check it and he told us to change to the new room with high-speed internet so we went to check the internet with them because we need the internet for working sometime but the same slow! and they can not make it faster (before we made the reservation we did call them about the internet speed and they said the hotel has high-speed internet) how can we do it? we just went out to buy the Simcard to do wifi sharing from our phone. After the room problem, we headed to the roof restaurant with bad service performance! the hostess was ignoring us when we walked to the restaurant to check the available table and let us standing without talking about anything we spoke with them in English but maybe they couldn't understand we tried to think in a positive so we walked to the rooftop bar and talk to a nice service guy and he went to check the table for us so got finally got the table in the restaurant. But when we finished and ask for a bill there was some lady who came to check for us, she was unpolite and no manners, she threw the receipt at us and walk away after we paid that made us feel so bad. However, not all of them did a bad behavior like this but we just so shocked that is this 5-star hotel? where is the standard? On the next day the housekeeper ring the door for room cleaning but we were not ready for them to clean and we explain in English but it seemed she did not understand and showed an upset face to us then walk away after 5 mins she came back and did the same behavior so we called to the reception to tell her just come back again in the evening because we were online meeting it should be good but no! after 30 mins she came back again I don’t understand what happened? so we tried to put “Do not disturb” sign on the door but the sign was working so wired! when we pressed the red sign but green! so we turned it off but it showed a red sign like it confused itself. We used the glass to drink coffee since we check in until we check-out they didn't clean the glass for us and it was left on the tray along with our stay also no fill-up of refreshment. Until the last day we check out we went to check-out with curly hair lady but she points the finger at our face and said "one moment I'm busy" that was very rude and unpolite we have never seen before even 1-star hotel will not do something like this to guest she let us wait for a while because she just handled something on the monitor? I would say she did not know how to manage work and how to service...
Read moreWhy ranking a 5* hotel with 5* in a review.|As a start, I’m traveling the world for business reasons and for family holidays as well. Predominantly to the Middle east (UAE), USA (west till east) and Asia (Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City). I always stay in 5* hotels, so I think it is fair to rate/compare 5* hotels on the same level.||For sure the Radisson Blu Hotel Kayseri applies to all the standards and regulations that belong to a 5* hotel. The differences are always in the details and the experience received during check-in, stay and check-out. Those details make a difference between a poor, moderate, good or excellent stay, hotel experience and rating.||To start with the location. The hotel is located in the city center (6km from ASR airport) and within walking distance of the Bazaar, Castle (Kalesi), Burunguz Mosque and shopping streets on the eastside and the Forum Kayseri shopping mall on the other side. (literally 20 meters away). Plenty of shopping and restaurants -lunch/dinner- are available. The building has 13 floors for rooms. (excl. executive lounge floor and rooftop bar floor with beautiful view of the city). ||Check-in was quick with free valet parking. The lobby exudes a characteristic, modern and calm atmosphere. Staff at the hotel reception is friendly, businesslike but also genuinely interested in the guest. We booked with breakfast included. |Our room was on the 13th floor (executive floor). Spacious with clean decoration and furniture. Carpet on the floor. King size bed, bedside tables, small desk, spacious sofa, relax chair and marble side table. Plenty of storage for clothing, safe, an -empty- fridge, iron board, coffee maker (Nespresso) and -unnecessarily- tree phones. The bathroom -tile floor- was spacious with rain shower and some amenities. Just lacking toothbrushes witch, I think should be a standard item. Bathrobes and slippers are also available. No wear and tear visible. The airco in the room was working well. ||The breakfast room is very nicely decorated and radiates a calm atmosphere with class. The breakfast itself is complete and adapted to local customs. So Sucuk and Pastirma are standard on the menu. An egg station is available and for the rest everything you may expect from a 5* hotel is present.|Of course, the traditional Turkish tea is not missing. Waiters are polite and helpful and remove empty plates on time.||The roof-top bar of the hotel provides good drinks and was decorated well. Good place to end your long day in the city with a beautiful overview of the city. Prices as expected in a 5* hotel. Only downside of the bar…., people are allowed to smoke. The same in many places in Turkey, they are allowed to smoke all over. You can smell cigarette smoke everywhere. -it wafts past you- This is also the case in restaurants. I don't know why but I have never seen so many people smoking as in Turkey. (because cigarettes are so cheap or do, they think they are "looking cool"?). Here the hotel could still make an improvement.||Like said in the beginning it’s all about the details and the experience received compared to other 5* hotels in other parts of the world. For this hotel:…It’s a good 5* hotel and I can...
Read moreWe stayed first at Radisson Old town in Istanbul. That was nice, very good location near all the sites. But this hotel was so much better. Even though it’s both Radisson, the quality level was much higher.
We stayed in a suite with 3 children. Plenty of room. It’s 75 m2. A beautiful bathroom, with a tub and separate shower. 2 clothing rooms. It’s just a lot of fancy for a couple of simple people. But denggg, we could get used to it! The view is over the Kayseri skyline. We prefer forests, trees or a nice sea. But when in Rome… this will do to.
The ‘teyzeler’ who cleaned our room, are so hard working little old lady’s. It’s always a little heart breaking to so that you have to work so long in Turkey and so hard. Everybody makes long hours and they still do it with a smile. I’m always impressed with that kind of service. Masallah!
Radisson has a georgeous pool. The perfect temperature to swim. A little cold when you get in, but nice when you swim. The Hamam is lovely. I just love love love this private hamam. We scrubbed and bathed and smelled great afterwards! It’s a great Hamam and they also have hamam treatments. We didn’t get any, but did it ourselves. Just as great. Maybe a little less 😜
We had some issues with our first suite. Or actually one. I am a very light sleeper, so no noise. But the window was broken. They tried to fix it. A part needed to be shipped out. We got a different room. This time on the 12. Floor. All our luggage was brought to our new room and the beds of the children were made up with their stuffed animals. Nice touch which is highly appreciated. Unfortunately, the new room is also not noise free. I can still hear traffic and the morning ezan, so I bought ear plugs. But no matter how expensive or cheap a hotel is, it’s always better when windows are noice cancelling. Especially when it’s a hotel of this standart.
Breakfast is amazing. I had the best gözleme ever. Light, yet richly filled with amazing cheese. It’s prepared right in front of you. Amazing. Unfortunately, we had a sick child that couldn’t eat anything. So breakfast was constantly in a rush because of the sick one. The last 3 days we could actually enjoy breakfast with everyone. Onur bey met us every morning with a smile. Service by Zehra, Yüksel and Berat was lovely. Always a smile, and Zehra knows what you need before you know it yourself. Our mini bar was filled daily and sometimes when we come in short of water or coffee. Just ring and it will be brought in a jiffy.
Special thanks to the reception ladies and gents who took care of all our needs. I don’t know all there names, but they helped us out big time. Especially the lady with the lovely Bob cut and the one with a streak of white in her lushes black hair. We are looking forward to our last few days. Bring it on!
Tips for the hotel! It’s nice to have some wall hangers in the clothing room for a towel or a...
