This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at, in my life. I have stayed at Best Westerns and Holiday Inn Expresses that were an order of magnitude cleaner than this resort. We experienced every village, except for the Italian Village, and can pretty much say this is the case for everything. Overall Experience & Rooms: We arrived as a family with 3 rooms, we were part of a larger group and had requested to be close together. They put all 3 of our rooms in 3 corners of the resort (far side of Caribbean Village, far side of French Village and the Key West Village), these are at least a 15 minute walk from one another. Our first room was concerningly disgusting. The floors were covered in dirt, the tub floor was black and there was rust throughout (see photos 2-54) . When I wiped my finger across the counter, it was covered in dirt. Not to mention, we were in the middle of a construction zone. A very, very loud construction zone. We requested to move rooms closer to my parents (in the Key West village) but they were unable to help us since “reservations was out for the night”. Thankfully, the following day they were able to move our room. While it was certainly a step up, it still was no where near 5-star quality. The air conditioner came on extremely loud throughout the night and would wake us up. I also killed 5 mosquitoes in our room - I had dozens of mosquito bites and I’m pretty sure most of them came while in our rooms. You can also hear everything the people in the rooms next to you say. Through the process of changing rooms, we found out they only booked us (all 3 rooms for my family) through Saturday, when we were leaving Sunday. We had proof we provided them the correct dates, but still had to move again to another room; none of this was comped, even at a percentage, by the hotel nor did they apologize. Our final room would likely be considered the “nicest” but the towels smelt like mold and mildew and there was mold in the bathroom (see photo 1). The staff was fine, but not overly helpful and seemed like they would rather be anywhere but working here. Preston was by far a stand out though who was extremely helpful and knew what he was talking about. Atmosphere: The grounds are well maintained well overall. There are a LOT of screaming children so it’s important to know this isn’t just a kids friendly resort, but a resort that caters specifically to children. The beaches are fine, the water is gorgeous. The water park was fun! The chairs throughout are old and moldy, I don’t think you could stand anywhere at this resort without seeing mold. We didn’t feel clean our entire stay despite showing 2-3 times daily. Food: As I previously mentioned, this place caters to children. Therefore, the food is overall pretty bland. Outside of the hibachi restaurant our food came out cold at every restaurant. A lot of food seemed to be heated up from frozen and made us feel a little queasy. The hibachi restaurant (shout out to our great chef Orlando) was the only real redeeming quality. Don’t think you will get a good cup of coffee here either. Overall, I really don’t understand why someone would pay money, especially the amount of money this resort costs, to stay here. They are building a new section of the resort, which may be nice for 3-5 years, but they really let the rooms go downhill. I truly felt disgusting my entire stay. We were part of a large group of 30+ people and I don’t think anyone was satisfied with their stay. I’m sure there are more things that made this stay horrific, but I’m blocking them out in an attempt to keep my sanity, lol.

We just returned from 5 nights at Beaches TCI and just wanted to say that we had a fantastic time! I was getting a little nervous reading some of the reviews in the months leading up to our trip, but we had very little to complain about. Our kids (age 1 & 3) loved Camp Sesame - the counselors were fantastic in helping ease some of their separation anxiety and they always came out smiling! They also loved all the Sesame Street programming (the character breakfast & character tuck in were all-time experiences for them!) The beach was a bit much for my one year old, but she enjoyed sitting in the shade watching her brother build sand castles, and they both loved playing in the pools! We didn’t have any problem securing chairs at the pools or at the beach and we didn’t get up early to reserve them. That seems to be a common complaint but we found it very easy to find spots (even ones with ample shade). We loved the check in process (we were not booked in a concierge room), thought it was very personalized and appreciated that we were walked directly to our room with our luggage delivered right away. Check out was also super streamlined and we found the departure lounge to be a great resource (snacks, waters, air conditioning etc). Food and beverage were about as expected - not gourmet dining for the most part but certainly better than many all-inclusives I’ve been to and definitely better than a lot of reviews will have you believe. We loved the Jerk Truck, Bella Napoli Pizza, Neptunes, Bobby Dee’s for the kids, Le Petit Chateau, Cricketers Pub, Arizona’s (for dinner), YoYo Froyo, and the Mac Truck for quick snacks. Our only miss on food was Sapodillas. We were very much looking forward to our adults only dinner here, and the food was meh and the service was pretty terrible. We waited like 45 minutes for our drinks, the server did not seem to care about my husband’s gluten allergy, which made him feel unconfident in eating his meal, and the food itself wasn’t great either. The grounds were meticulously kept and I saw workers constantly cleaning up after guests to keep the place looking nice. I’m not sure why everyone is saying that the service here is terrible and that all the workers were rude. Aside from a couple bartenders/servers who seemed like they’d rather be elsewhere, everyone we encountered was extremely kind and helpful. We stayed in the French Village and it was a good fit for us (loved being close to the French pool, Open air stage, and the Waterpark), but if I could redo our trip I would have chosen the Caribbean Village. We spent a lot of our time there between Camp Sesame, the pizza place, beach access, and the allergy office. We only ventured over to the Key West Village for a couple meals, it seemed so far away with not much pulling us over there. For those staying with littles (under 5) I’d recommend either staying in the French Village or the Caribbean Village. The Italian Village was really crowded and loud during the day near the pool, and Key West agains seemed far away from everything else. Anyway - I hope this helps anyone with an upcoming trip that feels a little scared off by all the negative reviews lately. We had a wonderful trip - definitely the most relaxing trip we’ve taken with little kids - and we’ll be back in the future!

I’ll start with the good - the property grounds are kept in amazing condition (save for aging pools that could use some refurbishment), the water sports (snorkel, kayaking, sailboats) are excellent, and the beach and water are pristine. We saw plenty of sea life on the glass bottom boat, including a ray and turtle, and plenty of fish snorkeling just off the beach. And it’s always easy to get a drink at a pool bar. Lastly, the shows, both adult-centric and Sesame Street were entertaining, more entertaining than I anticipated. I must call out housekeeping as exceptional as well. I never once actually saw them, but my room was always clean and stocked with fresh towels and needed toiletries, typically twice, during the day while we enjoying the resort, and again while we were at dinner. The mediocre and lacking is enough for me to consider other options if I would return to the island. The food is mediocre at best, and something caused me to be violently ill for a night (perhaps the sushi, perhaps a burger). Service staff is hit and miss - some are great, others appear annoyed that you’re even there, whether it’s for dinner or getting a coffee in the morning. Speaking of coffee, our lobby had a nice looking espresso machine, but with no staff to operate it, guests were lined up attempting to figure it out. I opted to go to Jojo’s for an iced latte instead, which was good. Though only on my last visit was I asked if I wanted espresso or cold brew; I didn’t know this was an option. That said, a “Sandals Foundation” shirt wearing employee left a door slam in my face as he was too busy on the phone as I left Jojo’s, hands full with my coffee and cookies for my daughter. C’est la vie I suppose. As for accommodations, staying in the Caribbean village, they’re nice enough, but need some work and maintenance. The batteries in our door lock died, necessitating a trip to the front desk and a visit from engineering. It would be nice if they were proactively replaced before locking guests out, especially given staff walked us to and opened the door upon arrival. The light blinked yellow after green, and in hindsight, that was an indicator the battery is dying. Inside, an initial smell of sewage quickly faded, though it was remarked upon by the staff member welcoming us to our room. Lastly the bathroom door was rough closing at best, and required quite the effort to open and un-stick if you did get it closed. “Luxurious rooms and suites”, as quoted on their website, these are not. I’d go with a mid-point 2.5 if I could, but I settled on 2 stars. I know the taxi van for departure is a subcontract, but it’s still a reflection of what a resort chooses. The gasket on the door was hanging into my shoulder, and our luggage was dumped facedown curbside after the driver hopped the curb to leave the passengers. I suppose time is money. Perhaps my expectations are high, but there is a substantial cost to visit. And I wonder if management ever stays a week as a guest to experience what an average guest might. If they don’t, I suggest they should, undercover boss style, unbeknownst to local management.

The price Beaches charges does not match what you receive in either resort quality or service. The island/beach itself is gorgeous.

We stayed 4 nights in the Caribbean Village in a 'concierge' king suite. The room was clearly dated (no big deal), but the king bed was very uncomfortable. The kids had trundle beds which was nice. The water pressure was very low in the shower and the toilet was in a constant state of near brokenness the entire visit.

The concierge check in was air conditioned and the welcome cocktail was pleasant. The 'fully stocked' mini fridge and bar was a couple of different sodas and juices and a ton of bottled water. Fine, but certainly not what I expected given the concierge up-charge. They eventually staffed the room with a handful of local liquor bottles, wine, and beer. If I needed something, I had to walk down to the concierge lounge, they never answered the phone from the room.

Concierge also promised a 'resort orientation' at check in. This consisted of being handed a map and list of activities with a brief explanation of some high level items. I was expecting a mini tour of the resort. They do offer that, but it's open to everyone and only at certain times during the day.

It would have been very helpful to have some useful info like places to eat that are open, pool bars close at 6 PM (for some reason), and other actionable information for our first evening at the resort that we had never been to before.

The one positive item from the Concierge room, was additional tour availability. We were able to do the glass bottom boat tour on the last day of our stay with a special concierge time as every thing else was already booked out before we arrived.

The facilities are nice and clean, we spent a lot of time at the Italian pool, Caribbean Pools, and the Waterpark.

The main place where this resort completely fails is the food and drinks. Food is not very good/served cold in many establishments. The service is hit or miss and very 'island time'. We never had to wait to eat or do any attractions which was good.

Neptune is the worst restaurant we ate at. The food was nearly inedible: the vegan kofta was wet and didn't hold together like a normal kofta. The snapper was super thin, overcooked, and had the exact same grill marks and flavoring as the swordfish from Schooners. After getting nauseated from two different seafood meals at Schooners and Neptune, I started avoiding the seafood entirely at this resort, which should really be one of its pinnacle features.

Arizona Steakhouse was consistently good, the honey chipotle t bone / flank steak were great. I also had the tuna tartare from there the first night and felt ill, but didn't put two and two together until after eating at Schooners and Neptune.

The Sky restaurant was good, but the scallop ceviche was very salty. Barefoot by the Sea was one of our best meals. We had lunch there, the conch salad was very good!

Sanitization at this resort is nonexistent. Only one buffet had hand sanitizer out and staff were not instructing people to clean their hands like you might see on a cruise ship. No shirt no service rules were also not being enforced at buffets, absolutely disgusting.

Cocktails / drinks are not consistent throughout the entire resort. Frozen cocktails are often not made with enough ice and already melted by the time they get to you. Bars are scheduled to open at 10, but often were not staffed until 1030 or later. There is only one type of beer in the entire resort.

The Italian beach had drink service / attendants, the Caribbean beach did not, which was weird.

The beach access and water activities were excellent! My wife got scuba certified which was cool to do at the resort!

Kids club activities were fun and varied. The staff there were great with the kids!

Snorkeling right off the beach was great, make sure you walk about 5 minutes west, off property, down the beach to see the most fish!

All in all, this resort is 'fine'. They charge a luxury price, but did not deliver on the luxury in any aspect...

I have to make this short beacuse of the characters but: We stayed at Beaches this May 2025 in the Key West Village For context: I stayed with my dad, my boyfriend and our 4 year old son. It was the fourth stay at Beaches for my dad, and the third for me.

  1. The line for the shuttles is absurd and disorganized.
  2. the check in is chaotic, there's no line so you don't know when to approach front desk, but at least they offer you drinks.

So at this point everything was going on track despite the disorganization we experienced.. We read so MANY bad reviews lately about beaches, but we didn't want to believe they were true.. spoiler alert: THEY ARE.

  1. We noticed that the staff is just PLAIN RUDE. And I am talking about a 70% of them. I have NEVER been treated so disrespectfully... There are exceptions, of course.

  2. Food was still good as it used to, the buffet maybe had less options than before, but overall was good.

  3. Check out experice: I TRULY can't believe that a five star hotel that charged us more than 2.000 usd per night can think of having responses like the ones I am about to expose: So that morning we woke up early and I found out someone had made a mistake and booked us for a wrong shuttle to the airport (we needed a shuttle for 1pm/2pm), and at beaches they schedule our shuttle for that morning at 9 am. So I headed to the front desk and tried to clarify everything so they could book us in the correct one. This took me half an hour. After that, we went to the beach and then to finish packing. We left my dad and my 4 year old at the beach. My husband and I finished packing by 10.40 and then the bellman stopped for our stuff. But since my dad needed to finish HIS bag, I asked him to return in 20 minutes.... THE WAY that man answered me was SO disrespectful. So while my boyfriend took our 4 year old to the water park, and my dad finished his bag at the room, I went to the front desk AGAIN to check out (this needs agility asap). When I was leaving they told me to leave the card key in a basket (again, THE TONE, this person used is just unacceptable.... same way of speaking to CUSTOMERS that I noticed many many many of the staff uses). I respectfully said that I didn't have it with me, because my dad was still in the room getting his bags down, so I gave HIM the keys. So I asked if I could bring the keys once I came back for the shuttle (so that I didn't have to be going back and forth ten thousand times). Then I was told something that, honestly, not even a MOTEL would do: "ok, but make sure to bring them otherwise we are going to CHARGE you for them" A FIVE STAR resort that charges people more than 2.000 usd per night THREATENING customers to charge them for a room key? unacceptable...

Again, I was willing to let this go when at 11.20 am I run into my dad on our way to the water park, very distraught, when he told me that the bellman was super rude to him and that at 11.10 he got a call (we assume it was front desk) that he had to leave the room immediately. He asked the lady over the phone to give him 10 more minutes just to check he wasn't leaving anything behind and she said that he'd already had those 10 minutes since it was 11.10 and that if he didn't leave the room right away they would charge us 400 usd for the delay... I won't even mention that because of a mistake on THEIR end I lost more than half an hour that same morning, but THREATENING a returning customer that way for TWENTY MINUTES? it is just unacceptable. We have been treated so horribly for the majority of our stay PLUS the situation on our last day, that it is just ridiculous.

ALSO I need to highlight that the previous day the power was GONE (coming and going) for the entire day, so the water park remained closed awhile, just like almost every restaurante during lunchtime.

I don't really have to say that we are NOT going back to that resort, which is a shame because the kids club is REALLY good....

While spending a week at Beaches Jamaica in December of 2020, we heard great things about Beaches Turks & Caicos, so we started saving money and planning for another ‘dream vacation’. We were finally able to make the trip to Beaches Turks & Caicos last week (Feb. 8 - Feb. 15) and unfortunately, it wasn’t anywhere near what we expected. While spending a week at Beaches Jamaica, the staff was incredible. Everywhere we went, employees were friendly and welcoming - many of them even calling us by name. While spending a week at Beaches T&C, about half the staff was anything but friendly and welcoming. In some cases, we even felt like we were an inconvenience or a nuisance to the worker.

It started when we arrived, and were crammed into an old/dilapidated van with a driver who wasn’t friendly at all. After getting checked in, we headed to dinner at Guiseppi’s buffet. The food was average, at best. But the service was what was most upsetting. The gal serving us didn’t seem to speak English and instead of receiving the rum & diet coke and margarita we ordered, we received a regular coke and pina colada. They were slow to clean plates so we had to creatively stack them as we went back for more food.

To be fair, there were great things about this resort – including the grounds, which were beautifully cared for, the pools, the beach, and the ocean. The food at Soy, Mario’s, and Kimono’s was excellent. And we were blessed with a couple excellent servers: Kaylondo at Soy and Andre at Mario’s. Jomo, Joan, and Virma were bartenders at the French Village pool, and they were very nice as well. But far too many of the employees did not offer a welcoming attitude. The guys working the water slides were particularly rude/disconnected.

Some of the things that upset us the most were: • Going to the dive shop – early - many mornings to try and get a spot on a snorkel tour. (You had to go each morning as they only book the tours out 24 hours.) I was able to book a tour 3 different mornings, and each of the 3 times we learned the tour was cancelled when we showed up to go. • We were there Saturday to Saturday and on either Tuesday or Wednesday, they announced the glass-bottom boat wouldn’t be going out the rest of the week. So we didn't get to experience that amenity either. • Going for brunch and finding dried up spaghetti noodles from the previous night’s dinner stuck to the booth seats. • The surf simulator was non-functioning. And in reading previous reviews, it sounds like that has been down for months. • We tried to play croquet and there was 1 mallet and 2 very old balls that weren’t even the same size. Seriously – why not go out and buy a new set if you’re going to offer that amenity/game? Tacky is an understatement. • Used towel bins regularly overflowing.

Bottom line: it seems this resort has a culture problem. Beaches is sold as a 5-star experience and you go there expecting excellent service. Between tours getting cancelled, services not being offered, unfriendly staff, and out-dated rooms, our experience was definitely not 5-star.

They are expanding the resort – building many brand new buildings along the beach. Perhaps some of that money should be re-invested into training the staff on 5-star service so guests can feel welcomed and appreciated. If we’re going to spend over $10,000 on a vacation ($13,000 when you add in flights and a dog-sitter), we want it to be memorable – for all the right reasons, not the wrong ones. While we enjoyed time together as a family, there were far too many disappointing experiences and it will be hard for us to ever consider a Beaches property again in the future.

For the record, I am not a ‘Karen’. Every Google review I’ve ever written has been to commend a business and rate them with 5 stars. I don’t like being a complainer. But this vacation was disappointing on so many levels, I felt it was appropriate to share so other people considering this resort will know what they’re likely...
