EuroHostel Kyiv — Hotel in Kyiv

We had been looking forward to going to Kyiv for a while now. Because quite frankly it's a bit of an unknown. We checked out Hostel International and found two hostels in Kyiv. For location and price we chose this one. We emailed back and forth with the manager and got a pretty decent deal. Looking at the pictures, it looked good. Like a decent hostel.||||When we got there... It was an apartment. On the eighth floor. And a lift that felt like to would and could collapse at any moment, and did not fit all five of us with backpacks. What I am saying is that we might have sweated a little bit. ||||So yeah, as mentioned previously. It's an apartment, which someone lives in as well. ||||When we got there we were greeted by a very nervous receptionist, with little command of English. But enough to get by and she was extremely keen to be helpful. She even phoned her daughter to use as a translator.||||The room itself was pretty decent, but with no lock. No keys for the lockers either. The beds were comfy, the bedding and towels were clean and decent. The kitchen was functional, the shower worked. What was a little odd was that the toilet was separate with no sink, so you had to hope that no one was in the shower after your toilet trip. ||||But all in all, it's a good hostel, in a decent location for a good price. There are two metro stations within 15 minutes walk in...

The owner, borys is very kind and helpful. I came during the Champions League final, there was not much accommodation left in Kyiv. Sadly the prices were escalated at the time due to the final....supply & demand I guess. But £4 a night to £50 a night is quite the mark up. ||||It's more like a guesthouse, with bunkbeds, you are staying with a family, who have children and live in the place. It can be difficult to find the hostel, but Borys can collect you from the airport...

Вот сейчас совсем недавно, в 6:10 утра меня выгнала дама из хостела. Пишу уже гуляя по улице. В 5:47 я Позвонила в хостел, узнать о наличии места. По телефону со мной разговаривали максимально не приятно. В моём звонке стоял вопрос о том можно ли сейчас приехать и остаться на несколько часов. Сказали да, есть одно место в комнате. Я приехала на такси. По приезду набрав ещё раз чтобы найти сам хостел, со мной очень не приятно общались по телефону. Меня встретило недовольнее лицо, без каких либо «здравствуйте» с фразой «разувайтесь» (и стоит молчит) Чувствуешь себя в этот момент убого с полным ощущением что тебе не рады. Взяв деньги и сказав где уборная мне сказали что выезд в 11. На вопрос «почему не предупредили об этом по телефону» и что мне нужно где-то остаться до обеда, на меня стали наезжать с упреком что я четко сказала что мне на пару часов, со мной стали не приятно спорить что я такого не говорила и строить мне сцену стоя в коридоре с цитатой «я возвращаю вам деньги». Я переложила не ссориться и показать комнату и пойти отдыхать всем , дама продолжала стоять и таращить глаза, продолжив так «девушка, вы не поняли? Я возвращаю вам деньги» я сказала чтоб возвращали и ушла. Худшего отношения я не встречала в хостелах. Такой человек не должен принимать гостей!
