I must agree with the reviewer beneath this is rather a 3 star hotel. As always, I'll explain all aspects:||LOCATION - OK, it's on a small hill, not in the very center. When going downtown it's a pleasant downhill walk, around 25 min to Maiden sq. For coming back I advise taxi to avoid that climb. Many restaurants just 5 min down on the main st.||LOBBY - big and OK decorated, little bit kitsch. Reception and check-in disappointing. Staff cold with no smiles, just working out their job. Asked for a room with balcony at 10 AM (arrived earlier), they noted it, we went sightseeing and came back at 8 PM, they let those rooms to others. No apologies, even arrogant answers.||ROOMS - recently renovated and nice. BIG minus - no kettle in the room. Very slow, and again arrogant housekeeping service.||POOL - one of my most important things when traveling and choosing a hotel. Very small and shallow - like a kids pool. The water should be warmer. ||BREAKFAST - excellent, yet pretty expensive. Really great choice and quality of food.||TIPS: Avoid their transport services, it's a ripoff. Their taxi fare to the airport is 850 UAH (more than 30 Euros), while in front of the hotel or down the street you can easily find for 500 UAH (less than 20 Euros). In general, throughout Kiev when hailing a taxi FIRST settle the price with the driver, very few are metered. The normal price inside the city center is 100-150 UAH (up to 6 Euros).||Also, avoid their currency exchange - very bad rate. Down the street on the main road there are...
Read moreThe hotel offers a great variety of services. In the room you will have all kind of amenities, bathrobes , slippers and tons of towels as well, also a coffee machine, free capsules, water and muesli bars every day. We were provided with a room with a balcony on the 8th floor and the views were just amazing!! Thank you very much for that! The personal is friendly and ready to help if it was needed. The beds were very comfortable too and the room itself is very modern. The location is good, you can walk to the center and see all the sights or there are options for public transport with metro stops nearby. |I would give a 9.5/10 and the only problem was sometimes other guests were really loud and they were just shouting on the corridor at 2am but of course this is not directly the hotel's fault. Another thing is the wifi which was not working perfectly all the time.|However, considering all this, I think our stay was amazing and we will definitely come back once it...
Read moreGiant hotel, type of socialist constructed shape, with plenty of rooms, good option for a conference or so. Rooms are clean and tidy, some small ones. Variety of food and rich breakfast. Personnel helpful and very friendly. Swimming pool is small and shallow. Sauna is functional throughout the day but lacked thermometer and hygrometer.
Well, here I am back to the hotel. Rooms clean and very comfortable beds. Nice and clean. On a different note single rooms are small and very narrow between cupboard and side wall. You have to close it to be able to pass through. Sauna is good but still the thermometer, hydrometer and sauna sand timer missing again, regardless of Management response to supply with soon. The glass tray over the bathroom sink is a bit in between you and the faucet, you can easily hit it when...
