Future maidan — Hotel in Kyiv

I stayed here 2 nights.||I check in, first I am told in very strict terms to leave shoes by door, I go to the room and a guy in there - a guest I think is very pedantic about being clean..very pedantic. He says no rubbish on the floor and then rushes to get me to help him to change the sheet on doona saying he keeps the room clean. I then head out for the day to come back to find my bag missing as I left it in the corner under a table locked up out of the way. I said to the young guy at reception "where is my bag and he says i have put it away in store room as my boss told me" I was very upset by this to find my bag missing. I said to him number 1 rule in hostels is never to touch anyone else's things. Some clothes and stuff is also moved from one end of bed to other ..I thought it strange. I sleep that night and next morning the clean guy who was below my bed was having a go at me for untidiness but it was not out of the normal standards. He basically abused me as I felt threatened by this aggressive pedantic attitude. Others also saw and heard this in the room. The guy is crazy I thought so I did not complain as I gathered that he and reception guy knew each other well so nothing would be done. Another time the next day he comes in the room and looks at his bed then gives me this deathly stare at me on my bunk as if to see if I had touched anything there which I hadn't. I soon then told a few others in the room to watch out for this guy. He called me a pig making the snorting noise. I spoke very little to him as he got angry and aggressive easily. Next day I speak to a couple and they said a bag of theirs was also missing - same scenario moved to store room..not happy people. Other people also said he vacuumed madly the floor in the room the day before I arrived. The reception guy sleeps on the couch at night and then asks for 50 Hrn to store a bag for the day! I asked him as I left and the pedantic guy was there "who is that guy",.he said "my friend". I said no more and left. I felt threatened and was abused here but what could I do. No real management there.. I was not sure if the aggressive clean freak stays here a lot as he seamed not the normal traveller type. He seemed to have special status in the hostel.||Being a 40 something yo, I have been to over 40 countries on every continent and have never been abused or felt threatened at all..never and hence has in my mind has placed a dark opinion on Ukraine for me. This is how guests are treated. Be warned...

I reserved and stayed for complete one week in the 8 bed room from 29th of Oct 2018 and canceled the second reservation for another week !||This was the first visit for me to this city although a huge tourism around the world within 14 years !||The location is perfect , the price is cheap if comparing with Europe but not for Kiev specially in the period which i stayed !||The problems inside is that this hostel is managed by irresponsible girls and they acting like if this is the private party house of them and the guests has no rights to give objections !||The girls go for dancing and forget to pay the monthly bill for the WiFi and make all guests without internet for a night and more !||They do not search for what the place needs and correct until a guests asking for that , and for examples , the toilet papers , water , sugar ,soap ...!||one of them specially got the common area for herself to sleep with her boyfriend until 11 clock in the morning when all the guests can not find a place to stay except their bed and the kitchen , so no place to get relax when you are drinking your coffee because they are sleeping their !||Turn on or off the lights has no rules, loud music , as they are doing what they want in their private house and do not look that they are employees has to take care about their customers and the owner is not present to give him a complaint !||They put a long paper for the rules of the place , but they think that this rules is for guests only and not for them also !||The hostel has two bedrooms with capacity of 8+10 beds which totally 18 person may be at the same time staying and it has one toilet and bathroom only !||The toilet and Bathroom can be opened from outside when someone inside and this by just turn the circle from outside by just a coin or anything and i saw one of the staff girls close the Bathroom from outside for long time to reserve it for herself , and i was thinking that someone inside !!( How to be accepted to open the lockers from outside when someone inside ??)||There is still a lot of more problems but the main problem in this place is that there is no Manager to take care about it and the receipt staff do not know how to be the responsibility , and this makes me cancel the second week which i reserved and preferred another place to stay after turn back...
