Where to start from? Though my booking was just in a short notice, I was allowed to check in earlier as the room was available and ready. Yanina, one of the kindest receptionist you will ever meet, was there with her warm approach to make my life much easier. Location is close to the famous historical Stairs and the nightlife of Odea. Hotel entrance is concealed. You can find it by going through a courtyard. You will see a tripadvisor sticker on the door! The en-suit room was small with a standard double bed. Spotlessly clean. A quiet hotel. High quality stuff were apparently used which gives impressions the hotel is newly built. The staff is friendly and warm beyond description. There were lovely surprise gifts for me, a bottle of champagne for my birthday, which was next day, and a box of chocolate for St. Patrick's Day! I was so touched and speechless. A five star treatment guest treatment which was an experience by itself! There is a small restaurant in the hotel. Food was good and the dessert is yummy. Dimitry, the bartender is friendly and helpful. I left the hotel with a smile on my face. I am definitely staying here if I visit Odesa again. I cannot recommend this hidden Gem...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay at Ekaterina II. Be aware that the hotel is not visible from the street - you have to walk through an alley to find the entrance, and there are no signs to help you. Our Uber driver couldn't find it, and the shop keepers we asked didn't know what were were talking about, so we ended up walking around the square for almost an hour (with our luggage and GPS) before we were able to find it. Our room was small but comfortable, and the breakfast was very nice. The front desk staff was very friendly; some spoke English better than others. One of the restaurant servers seemed unfriendly to me, but that might be a cultural difference. Be aware that the toiletries are not very plentiful; very small plastic packets of shampoo and shower gel. We ended up having to buy our own bar of soap in order to have enough for both of us. The location is very good, and within walking distance...
Read moreThe best thing about Ecaterina II is its location - it is centally located and within short walking distance of all main city attractions, from the gorgeous Opera House to the Marine Terminal. In fact, only the breakfast room windows offer the city and sea views but it didn't much matter for us. Our juniour suite room had a balcony with a view of a courtyard which gives you an idea of authentic historic center backyards. Our car was securely parked in the courtyard at no extra charge. The bathroom was very clean with all the necessary amenities and toiletries. The breakfast was a la carte with a limited choice of food and drinks but the meals were so big and tasty that we didn't mind it at all. ||We will definitely book the hotel again when we come to Odessa next time.|||| ·On the downside, the juniour suite room turned out to be smaller...
