What a shame. They could do so much with what they have, but instead they're mired in an old mindset.
No English. Some good stuff but no attempt to reach foreign visitors. This place is a tough sell unless pictures and artifacts with no descriptions are your thing.
If ever a museum sought to ensure visitors NEVER promote the museum on personal social media pages, Odessa History Museum nails it. A 30 UAH “Photo fee” to take pictures? Seriously? Yes, disincentivize people excited about what you do from sharing it.
Three separate sections of museum, and they charge three separate ticket fees. The sections are all small. The museum is small. Why are they making it complicated like this? I don’t know what I want to see, I want to see your museum. FOUR tickets to see the galleries and take photos? I wish someone from this museum visited another museum somewhere that is run normally and reported back how non-dysfunctional city museums operate.
