From the title you may learn that such a hotel would be expected to be rated highly in service, stay comfort, Rooms and amenities, and …. Etc.
Here are few points worth mentioning during my 3 nights stay which began by my arrival at mid night.
1- the hotel may be of 5 star and Fancy but here is the Shocking news there is no self parking and better watch out on those valley parking drivers when they jump into the front seat. I was really disappointed but mostly shocked to see the driver at my arrival having left my kids in the car, and without noticing, the valley parking drivers driver jumps into the driver seat and wants to drive away so fast,, with the family still inside it!!! What do you call that! comments already informed the front office manager but no call back but disregard.
2- up on arrival I came to be distressed with the fact of the requirement to pay 250 Dhr upon check in additional cost, a must, for staying at the property. guess what!! Up on boooking of the accommodation they failed to mention it hence being a hidden cost that apparently was on the email sent whilst I was driving!!
3- Disrespectful and in professional communication by the counter staff to having to repeatedly using the sentence “YOU DO NOT LISTEN” !!! Common and for the sake of the hotel being a. 5 star!! Are the staff under trained especially those at the reception!!!
4- Worse experience ever had was the fact that I booked and checked in with a child of 6 yrs and 4 yrs. Passports all handed over and checked in but was unfortunately, not having been confirmed by the receptionist, that only 1 child was registered and hence the half board would not apply to the second child!!!
B) this would be the worse experience in same regards but, I came to know that from the two nights half board?”, only one was permitted even though I had not taken for both the two nights !!! Spoke to two receptionists med and Muatasim (not quite sure of the name) but both confirmed and approved that I can take the second half board offer at the next day; thus comes the day and it looks like this is not reflecting in the system!! Restaurant refuses to acknowledge and again embarrassed infront of the family and other guests in having to leave and go for the reception once again to re affirm!!! Again is this the sort of service given by a 5 star hotel??!!!!! Especially being the “Five Jumeirah” !!! Is anyone noticing such inconsistency in professionalism both by there system and by the staffs!!!!
5- Something unexpected from a 5 star hotel.. I left the hotel post check out, I never gave my credit card details to anyone at hotel nor have I given permission to obtain any amount off my credit card. Here comes the unexpected, post my departure and check out by 7 hours, I get a message from my bank of an amount charged on my credit card without authorization, prior authorization or at least being pre informed. What is this sort of action and what will be the next.. I will proceed with...
Read moreWe had a very pleasant stay at Five Hotel JVC. Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety. Roshana was very helpful, ensuring we were well served.
Edited to cover overall stay.
We recently stayed at Five Jumeirah for six nights with breakfast included.
We arrived well before our check-in time and had notified the hotel in advance, hoping they could prioritise our room as we were travelling with our three-year-old. They said they’d do their best. Our toddler wasn’t feeling great, and when we asked if she could have breakfast, they kindly offered it complimentary, which we appreciated.
After heading out to pass the time, we returned at 4pm—an hour past the official check-in time—only to find the lobby packed with arrivals. Once in our room, we had to wait around 45 minutes for our luggage, which was supposed to be brought up. Eventually, my husband went back down to the concierge to retrieve it himself. The bathroom blind wasn’t working, and when we called guest services, we were told to wait another 20 minutes. After pressing for quicker service, someone arrived within a few minutes. We finally managed to settle in and freshen up, but the whole check-in experience felt unnecessarily drawn out. To their credit, they later sent a lovely tray of chocolates and a bottle of wine by way of apology—though I don’t drink, so the gesture was only partially appreciated. The Wi-Fi also left much to be desired, especially for our toddler who couldn’t stream her YouTube shows on the smart TV.
Breakfast offered a wide variety and the restaurant staff were generally warm and welcoming. A special mention to Roshana for her attentiveness. That said, service could be inconsistent—we sometimes had to ask multiple times for an omelette, hot drinks, or water for the room.
Housekeeping stood out, particularly Bilal and Khubab, who cleaned our room both in the morning and again in the evening. This twice-daily service was a pleasant surprise. However, attention to detail was hit and miss—our balcony was occasionally overlooked during cleaning.
The hotel did go out of their way to provide us with a microwave for warming food, which we used regularly throughout our stay—a thoughtful touch for families.
In summary, our time at Five Jumeirah was pleasant, but not without its hiccups. While there were kind gestures and standout staff members, the overall experience lacked the seamless service we’d expect from a hotel of this calibre. Not quite exceptional, but not...
Read moreExtremely disappointing experience for a so-called 5-star hotel
I rarely write reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough to deserve one. My friends, colleagues, and I (a group of about 12 people) decided to celebrate an occasion and booked a suite in this hotel located in the heart of JVC, Dubai. The room came with a large terrace and a private pool — exactly what we were looking for to enjoy the evening and relax after a long week at work.
However, the entire experience turned into a complete disappointment. From the very start, it became obvious that the hotel is not built for guests who want to have even a modest celebration. The structure of the building is such that every sound echoes through the walls, so even normal conversation on the terrace apparently “disturbs” everyone around. Throughout the night, hotel staff came to our room more than fifteen times to complain about noise. Fifteen times!
We were not throwing a wild party — just sitting, talking, listening to music, and having a few drinks. Yet, instead of allowing us to enjoy the evening we paid for, the staff kept knocking on the door, interrupting us every 10–15 minutes. Their attitude was rude and unprofessional. I completely understand basic hotel rules, but when you pay a solid amount for a 5-star room with a terrace and pool, you expect a certain level of privacy and respect.
What’s even more frustrating is that the staff acted like it was my fault that the building is poorly sound-insulated. I was repeatedly told that “other guests are complaining” — as if that somehow justifies ruining our night. If the hotel cannot handle guests using their terrace the way it’s intended, then they simply shouldn’t advertise it as a place suitable for relaxation or gatherings.
Overall, I left with a very bad impression. The hotel does not deliver on the 5-star standard it claims to have. Poor sound insulation, constant staff interference, and an overall unfriendly attitude from management completely spoiled what was supposed to be a memorable evening. Definitely not recommended if you’re looking for a place to actually enjoy your...
