Situated in the hustle bustle of the busy fahidi street, Lebanese Village is a breath of fresh air.. With a pretty impressive outdoor seating overlooking the bur dubai junction this restaurant promises amazing lebanese food.
Since it was a pleasant winter afternoon, we decided to take the outdoor seating which is quite good.
They have quite a good menu but some lebanese dishes are missing on it. Items tried..
Spicy fish - Boneless pieces of hamour fish mixed with a tangy tomato based gravy, this main course is a delight for seafood lovers who want to have a fusion of lebanese and Asian food. Served with garlic sauce, kuboos, pickles, olives and beetroot dipped in vinegar, It's a decent serving for 2 if you also have another side dish lined up. Even though the name says spicy, this dish is quite a mix of tomatoes, fish and a few chopped veggies which are not too much on the spicy side.
GRILLED Meat platter - this platter is a mix of chicken kebabs, shish taouk and lamb pieces. Since my aunt didn't prefer lamb, we asked them to make it a chicken only platter which they easily agreed for. This is also served with pickles, french fries and bread.
Open Shawarma plate- Well grilled Chunks of sharwarma along with bread, veggies and garlic sauce is a star dish from lebanese Village.
Sharwarma - just grab and go for a quick and delicious evening snack.
Kunafa - They have 2 filling options, cheese and cream. We opted for a cream Kunafa which was super rich and very delicious. Would love to try the cheese one too.
Highlight: The Garlic Sauce is really amazing here!
P.S - It's little on the...
Read moreIn short-food is good. Behaviour is extremely snobbish with lots of attitude and offhand. Mostly this attitude comes to the fore with customers from the Indian subcontinent. In front of me the Arabic customers were given preference to seat, faster service, and welcomed very nicely and me and my friend were largely ignored- on two different occasions. But all these are applicable to the Arabic waiters and the Arabic manager. Not the staffs from other nationalities. But food is really really good. They have indoor, upstairs and outdoor seating options. I have taken fish and liver preparations , hummus, shawarmas. All were top notch. I would have loved to give them 4.5 rating on the basis of food, but the behaviour still rankles. 30th May. 2015. After a very long gap, I went again 3 weeks back and had a very pleasant and remarkable experience. I ordered a simple shawarma plate with a fruit juice. Order was taken very fast and delivered very fast. Behaviour was polite and efficient. The taste of the food and the presentation with the associated paraphernalias were as usual excellent. Another visit fpund me ordering a plate of Chicken liver and followed by a plate of Falafel. Liver was good enough but the amount seemed pretty less for 30 dhs and the Falafel- though very crispy outside, the inside was completely raw- i dont like it this way. The fries were very nicely fried- soft and well cooked inside, crispy outside. While paying the bill again had to face some inordinate delays to catch the eye of the waiter. But still a nice experience. Recommended for...
Read moreWas an absolute disastrous experience. Ordered Fatoush- Arabic Shawarma and Half grilled chicken😊 Fatoush came with huge chunks of cucumber, unripe tomatoes, and capsicum—- atleast slice your ingredients properly …..it was bland honestly (3/10) The starter bread was super stale- because it is complimentary doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be good.
Arabic Shawarma had a very weird taste - the chicken wasn’t properly cooked- they drizzled some weird sauce on the top and its presentation wasn’t appealing (1/10)
The most disastrous of them all- Half grilled chicken. I’m 75percent certain the chicken had been marinated for more than 4days. It tasted like it was soaked in vinegar and lemon juice with soy sauce and hot sauce 😕 (0/10) We couldn’t even eat this. Lemonade wasn’t good either (too much sugar, a drop of lemon, water and maybe vinegar)
Glasses have smell of 🪳!
Anyway- the staffs seem a little disoriented but are nice. Take this seriously because the whole place was quite empty!
Prices are okay! You need to atleast enjoy what you’re paying for and honestly we didn’t.
Will definitely not visit this place again or maybe I will to see if they have taken some notes...
