Title: Exceptional Stay for Exhibition Trip
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Moxy Hotel located by Edinburgh Airport for a 2-night visit during an exhibition trip, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of outstanding.
From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming ambiance that the Moxy is known for. What truly set this stay apart, however, was the exceptional service provided by the staff. A special shout-out goes to Anna, who went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and hassle-free. She not only greeted me with a smile upon arrival but also took the initiative to arrange a wake-up call and taxi for me the following morning, making my early departure a breeze.
The stylish and modern room provided the perfect retreat after a long day at the exhibition. It was clean, well-designed, and equipped with all the amenities one could need. The attention to detail in the room's decor did not go unnoticed, and the comfortable bed ensured a restful night's sleep.
During the evening, I had the pleasure of interacting with Louise, who proved to be an expert when it came to cocktail selections. Her knowledge of mixology and her passion for crafting delightful drinks truly stood out. I must admit, her recommendations were spot-on, and I enjoyed every sip of the cocktails she prepared. Louise's dedication to her craft and her friendly demeanor added a special touch to my evening at the Moxy.
In addition to the exceptional staff, the hotel's proximity to Edinburgh Airport was incredibly convenient for my trip. The seamless access to the airport allowed me to make the most of my time, both at the exhibition and during my travels.
Overall, my stay at the Moxy by Edinburgh Airport was beyond my expectations. The combination of impeccable service, comfortable accommodations, and a memorable evening at the bar made for an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, whether it's for business or leisure. I am already looking forward to my next stay at the Moxy!
A sincere thank you to the entire Moxy team for making my trip...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay just a quick walk to the airport.
Mark, Demi and Maria served us at the Bar, and they were the most delightful group of workers you could ever ask for.
I would like to share a little of my European experience, so you understand why the Moxy was so great. As Americans traveling to Europe, we know from social media that we are not well liked and there are stereotypes. We were traveling to my daughter's wedding on the Amalfi coast in Italy and we stayed in Rome 1 night and then 4 nights in Positano. Then we traveled to Scotland because my husband's ancestry links his name to the Land of Leckie in Gargonnock. We had to stay at the Moxy 2 nights for the airport travel.
In other situations, were not waited on, scoffed at for being American. We were asked why we were not "fat" like other Americans. We were poked fun of, even when we were quiet and did nothing but be polite and spend money in Europe. We read all the tips and rules to "not" look like a tourist/ American but also to respect the European cultures. I personally am proud to be an American. I am a professional, 57 year old woman who works in the hospitality industry. We are not obnoxious, demanding, we always offer a generous tip for good service and we are respectful. We were careful to wear the correct clothes, order drinks with no ice ( we love ice and this was hard). We didn't wear athletic clothes or flip flops per the blogs we read. We were treated so very poorly in so many circumstances on our trip. We spent more than $20K in US dollars for our 10 day trip. Our airline tickets alone were $7K us dollars or probably more than ten thousand pounds. This was a big deal for us to save for.
We were treated so wonderfully by the Moxy staff. It really made us realize that maybe stereotypes and bias that we work hard to overcome in America are very present in Europe. Your staff embodies inclusion, hospitality and professionalism towards tourists. I just wanted you to know this.
AND the PIZZA.. was the best we had besides...
Read moreDO NOT DRIVE INTO THE PARKING LOT! I originally wrote this review to talk about the poor service we had at the bar and it's still worth mentioning how rude they were to us and other customers that I saw them walk away from while they were talking and be ignored. But something worse has happened since then that I want to warn you all about.
Upon arriving at the hotel, I pulled my rental car up to the front door. Unloaded my luggage and registered at the front desk. They asked me to register my vehicle but I told them I was not going to use the parking lot and would be returning it immediately. I brought my things up to the room, came back down and immediately drove my rental car from the front door curb over to the airport across the street to return it. Then I walked back. At no point did I park in their parking lot.
I received a fee from the rental company indicating that they they were passing along a ticket from the company that runs the hotel parking lot, ParkingEye. Apparently, they read my license plate upon entering the driveway to the hotel. I assumed I could get it resolved by speaking with the management of the hotel but they refused to help me or even give me the contact information of the company to appeal the ticket. They just said there's "big signs" that say not to park without registering and that it was my fault. They didn't care that I did NOT park and don't consider dropping off luggage as parking.
This is going to cost me about $150 by the time all of the fees are resolved just because I drove a rental car to their front door and dropped off my luggage. What kind of hotel abuses their customers like this for a completely normal arrive process?! I get protecting the parking area for guest use only and charging for using a parking space but this doesn't even make any sense. Stay away...
