A day out at Sandwich. Weather.warm and sky blue. Sandwich has a lot of places to eat and drink. The area is charming.

My husband and I decided to eat at the New Inn as we always have in the past. Decided to stick to Chicken dishes. When ordering my food I specifically asked for thin fries as I do not like fat chips. The pub was relatively empty, so we did not expect to wait 45 minutes for our meal.

When my food came I saw no sigh of the thin fries and my chicken strps, thigh and drumsticks (all breaded) were overcooked. For almost £16, this was unpalatable. Nobody came and asked if the meals were okay when I was at the table, as they would at Weatherspoons. I will eat at a different place on my next visit. Shame, the food used to be really tasty and delicious.

Nice pub, eating ........

We chose to eat here merely based on the fact that we could see a sunny spot outside.

I ordered the double burger. (there wasnt a single burger option and I really wanted a burger!) The burger patties were clearly home made and were succulent, well cooked and totally delicious! The chips were chunky, hot, crunchy and sublime. Everything was piping hot and beautifully presented.

My husband ordered a rare steak and chips and was delighted to find it was a choice piece of meat that was very well cooked - perfectly rare, just the way he likes it. The best steak he's had for a long time!

The service was excellent and friendly and all for a very good price. I feel like I will be talking about this unexpected gem of a meal for a long time! We will be sure to return next time we visit the...

A comfortable long weekends stay. Check in was nice and easy. Rooms are located directly above the inn. I was booked in to room one located to the rear. Other rooms are located to the front, which you may hear more noise from below, but soon after 11:30 it goes quiet anyway. Rooms are simple but perfectly functional though do need a little tlc. Beds were quite comfortable, so slept well. The bathroom, again is perfectly functional with plenty of hot water, though needs a bit of maintenance. Breakfast was quite decent. A good selection of cereals, option of tea or coffee, orange juice and a good small sized full English and toast. Cooked part can only be made if there is a chef available. Overall, a good place for the price and would be happy to stay...

Absolutely stunning food!! Hands down the best Bangers & Mash I've ever had - the sausages were mindblowingly scrumptious and perfectly cooked. It came with baked caramelised apple on a bed of fluffy mashed potatoes. And to top it all off they served us side vegetables and saucières filled to the brim with delicious gravy! The sticky toffee pudding that followed our mains was also outstanding. The warm custard lake that surrounded it was perfect. I cannot recommend this pub enough for it's food. I will always be thinking of their Bangers & Mash on a cold winter's day!

I haven't tried the rooms but came in for something to eat... and God damn! The food was so good! Best pub/hotel food I have eaten in a long time. There was a bit of a wait but it was explained to be before hand which I was fine with. The two bar ladies were very polite and good people skills, both calm as it did get a bit busy. I would recommend the food especially the chicken, do get 2 bits of chicken.

The New Inn is a great pub. It is big and there is plenty of space inside. There are outside tables at the front in the sun. The ladies behind the bar are really friendly and pull a great pint of Guiness. The food is tasty, the gammon and the lasagna were like home made. The prices are good. They have live acoustic music on a Saturday evening.
