Oh my goodness, what a lovely little museum! The gentleman in the entrance was amazing, a very knowledgeable fellow. To be honest, his voice was lovely and soothing; I could’ve listened to him all day! The lady that’s there was a delight to talk with about the local history too. She was so kind and engaging, my friend and I learnt a great deal! It’s free to enter as well; the courtroom there was beautiful. The stained glass window was captivating. Please come to Sandwich, and to this museum, you’ll realise how important Sandwich was in the past.

A must-visit in Sandwich! In the short 20 minutes we were there, we heard the most delightful stories about the rich history of Sandwich. Our guide who was a volunteer was very insightful and full of delightful facts and anecdotes. Loved the Tudor court as it was so well preserved. We were also given a guide of other must see places around the town!

A free museum with a lovely set of volunteers. Our kids were treated to a full walk/talk through of the court room and allowed to sit in the juror box and also pretend to be prisoners. The whole family enjoyed it.

We took a random left turn at the market square to enter this museum and absolutely delighted that we did. I have been a regular visitor to the area for 3 years but this was the first time in the Guildhall. We learnt so many fascinating historical facts about the area and the courtroom is wonderfully preserved. It was especially nice that Jill, who has only lived in the area a few years, was so enthusiastic and Peter was mind full of...

Well worth a visit if you are in or near Sandwich in Kent. Free to enter with quite a few exhibits about the history of the Isle of Thanet - including an original albeit damaged Magna Carta! Make sure you go into the medieval courtroom which is attached to the museum. A fascinating insight into early justice. The chap that showed us around was incredibly...
