We were desperate for a hot drink on a very wet&windy day, we popped in here and did enjoy a coffee that needed an awful lot of sugar (because of its bitter strength?) but I was extremely unhappy by the cleanliness of the place! We did see a 5/5 hygiene certificate but no idea how it was achieved??? The place needs a very deep clean in the 70s sprawl of furniture but the kitchen area looked even worse!! It was so disappointing especially as other cafes looked so much more hygienic! We'd only missed the one next door by about 10mins... I cannot comment on the cakes as we only had a drink! Wonderful quirky, friendly local independent café. Hands down the best place to go for coffee in Sandwich. Super friendly owner and staff always give the warmest welcome and make you feel like a valued customer. Good coffee and locally made cakes. Lots of atmosphere and positive vibes. Art by local artists on the walls (for sale) inside and tables across the road in the churchyard make it a great place to be no matter what the weather. It's a great place to grab a coffee and a piece of cake. It feels like you're in your lounge at home. Quirky, intimate and chilled. The coffee is lovely. I had a soya caramel latte and it was smooth and strong... perfect! The cakes and scones look scrumptious although I didn't order any. There is a dog ice cream too! They have a takeaway window for when you are on the hop and it all feels lovely and old-school.
