I would definitely rate this B&B as one of the best places we have stayed at in Eastbourne. It is owned by Hayley & Jon who are the nicest couple ever and make you feel like you are staying with friends. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt extremely welcome and at home. Hayley & Jon both greeted us on arrival and even helped carry our bags up to our room. The room had a balcony with seating and a little table with a view of the sea. There was tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits, chocolates and sweets which were replenished daily. The room itself was really beautiful and bright and absolutely immaculate. We had snow white fluffy towels on our really comfortable bed each day and very upmarket toiletries. It was really hot when we stayed there and we were provided with a really big fan to cool us down and ensure we got a good night's sleep. Hayley brought up the best lemon drizzle cake ever, homemade by Hayley herself which was a lovely touch as we had been stuck in traffic for ages getting there. Wish there was an option to buy the cake on departure. Absolutely amazing breakfast each morning, beautifully cooked by Hayley and served by Jon who also makes the best anemic toast ever just the way I like it. Thank you Jon. It is clear this lovely couple want you to have the best time and bend over backwards to make sure you do. Great location with parking at the back, always a great bonus. We have already booked our...

Read moreWhen planning our trip to Eastbourne, the missus and I were tossing up whether to stay in an established hotel or take a punt on an independent BnB... The latter was 100% the correct choice.
Jon and Hayley were accommodating from the start and had our room ready 4 hours early, which allowed us to get ourselves sorted before our Seven Sisters walk. This was a taste of things to come as Jon was always on hand to make sure everything was running smoothly.
The room itself was lovely - well equipped with good quality facilities, and a luxurious bed in which I was happy to spend more than the recommended 8 hours!
Breakfast was a real highlight with Hayley serving up a top notch full English with good quality ingredients - bacon as thick as my thumb! Jon was his usual friendly chatty self and we even got talking to a lovely couple who were celebrating their 51st wedding anniversary with a bottle of morning fizz.
A really wholesome experience and no faults at all; the bay lodge guest house will be our first port of call if we return to Eastbourne, as it...
