Have been here several times, but today’s visit was a cold crisp winters morning. You can tell the place is popular as people were choosing to sit outside due to it being busy. We waited at the door for less than a minute where a waitress who had her hand full of dirty plates made sure we were seated straight away. Credit to her, as most staff would clear there hands first and come back. This however meant the table wasn’t clean when we sat down and no one returned to wipe the table, so this what dropped a star. To be fair on the staff, it was full and stupidly busy so can really complain. Food choice was fairly good. Two menus were available, breakfast before 12 and lunch after. There appears to be special most nights as well so one to keep an eye on. Prices were average for the food received. We ordered 2 Panini’s and a garlic flat bread for my child as childs menu was a little limited. Flat bread was a good size and tasted great. All food was nice and hot. Food and drinks arrived quickly as service was great. Female waitress was very chatty and friendly with customers so a credit to the team. Overall a good experience, but a bit of extra cleaning would earn the 5 stars

UPDATE. I visited here again today with friends. I just had a hot chocolate, but it was nice, the staff are lovely. The atmosphere was very Chrismassy. First time here, excellent service from the start. No bookings, first come first serve. We were seated within less than five minutes by a friendly female member of staff. We sat outside with a lovely sea view to admire. Our food was brought very swiftly by another friendly lady. My order had been taken by a friendly young man, all of this done with extreme ease and efficiency. My son and I chose the panini with house chips (super chunky!) and mozzarella chips, everything was delicious. We then had pudding, which I rarely have, but couldn't resist the Kelly's ice cream and brandy snap basket. My son had the brownie and ice cream. I was delighted to learn that today was also 'eat out to help out', as it was BH I didn't expect it to be. All in all, a great place to eat, lovely staff, fast service, tasty food and a great view.

Its a greatly placed bar/cafe/restaurant directly on the seafront, we ate there once in a quiz night and the food was good. Last time we went it was a lovely, early spring day in the sunshine on a weekend and they were clearly maxed out. Took a little while to get a table outside, but that's no reflection on the place or staff. There were a lot of tables outside that didn't have chairs, which would have been beneficial that day, but I imagine chairs are in storage and come out when there is more consistent sunny days. Views are gorgeous as you're right on the beach front, lovely place to stop for a coffee, drink, snack or lunch/dinner - highly recommend. One thing that would be good is if you could just go to the bar and order a drink if you're just there for that. Table service is insisted upon so can take a while for your drinks to arrive if they're busy. Very friendly staff though.

Such a shame to write a negative review, especially as the food is just glorious here! The chefs are fantastic, so please rest assured, you will get a decent meal here. The views are stunning, no matter the weather. The thing that lets this special little place down, is the front of house staff. Unfortunately, they are not polite, and struggle with their customer service skills - if you get a smile then you are incredibly lucky. I do not consider having my drink slammed down in front of me kind or professional. When asking where your drinks are after 15 minutes, despite the place not being terribly busy - you don't, as a paying and returning customer, expect to be frowned at or told they have to ask whether or not I made the order - simply advise me you'll get it and then check my bill! It's not rocket science! There are a few members of staff who begrudgingly work here it feels, as they talk in a robotic manner, say 'have a nice day' when they look like they want to slap you. My daughter (3 years old) was actually worried the last, and final time we went here, as she felt so bad for taking a seat when there was a queue. We hadn't realised as had come up from the ramp with her bike, and there is no sign facing that way to say 'please wait here to be seated'. And on previous occasions, we have been advised to take a seat when we want to sit outside. We did so and got into trouble. I wish I'd left then, as it was not a pleasant lunch after this due to the shocking behaviour of some staff members, who frightened my daughter and made her feel so uncomfortable. Caution here also, as they don't always show you the bill, they just tell you price and expect you to do a contactless payment... We won't be returning and won't recommend this place, as we have done, to our friends and families. Service is part of the experience, and this is somewhat lacking, and...

£27.80 - for barely warm chowder for two and a cup of coffee. Our order was taken quite quickly, and food came quickly - obviously too quickly ! The bowls were not warmed and the chowder was not heated through enough. Plenty of haddock pieces but they were almost cold in their centre. The chowder was very thin compared to any creamy and thick chowder I have had anywhere else. Fat was floating on the surface. Liquid butter was disgusting ! It just ran out of the wrappers. When the waitress asked if everything was ok she walked away muttering when I didn’t answer. ( I had a mouthful). The only good thing was the skinny fries which were very good, even though a very small portion for the price. We did tell the waitress that the food had not been hot, and the butter was liquid. Nothing was said, no apology forthcoming. Being disabled means I can’t run around trying to find staff. I couldn’t see a disabled toilet and really struggled in the tiny tiny cubicles. Afterwards I asked if there really was no disabled loo, the waitress shrugged it off with “when we fitted the new door nobody bothered to put the sign on it”. Well……………. I had had two bad experiences here, but as they were long ago and I thought I should give the place another chance. It was a special treat for my husband to have a chowder. It was an expensive mistake !!! I will never return or recommend again. It’s a shame they can’t get simple things like heating plates and making sure the food is hot, as it’s position provides a...

Although the scones and tea were nice and obviously a great location, we would not visit again. The queuing system was lengthy and unnecessary, the greeter really taking his time and wandering back and forth at a very leisurely pace each time he greeted clients.....going off to check table availability ( loads if free tables esp inside), stopping to chat with other staff. The track and trace label was only accessed once we reached the greeter yet could have all been sorted while we queued had there been QR labels along the walkway, so reducing the wait time and queue. The queue suggested a lack of tables but this was definitely not the case. The greeter had an ill fitting mask and was constantly touching his face to readjust....then obviously handling menus.

Once seated the service was efficient and polite but the table was dirty and when we asked if it could be cleaned, the waitress used a dry paper towel to very little effect.

One of the staff members was messing about and flicking a tea towel against the bar making loud whipping noises! The staff weren t very busy....as people were all in the queue!

When we went to pay the bill we were just told the price....didn t see a bill and had...
