Bean Shot — Restaurant in England

After a busy day of book-buying we needed a coffee and found Bean Shot Coffee. Quirky with an odd sort of seating arrangements but we liked the sofas! I know the coffee is "specialist" but can't say I really enjoyed mine - rather too nutty for my taste. Also, sorry, but I like sugar (ideally sugar lumps) in my coffee not liquid sweetener. The cakes were delicious and the waitress very friendly and enthusiastic about the venue.

In response to the owner: My review was, as are everyone else's reviews, my own personal comments. It wasn't that the coffee needed "fixing". rather that it wasn't to my taste. In fact I drank most of it as I needed a coffee. I'm not sure which blend I had but, to be honest I'm not sure I'd have known which blend to order anyway. As for the sugar - I'm afraid it didn't taste like sugar to me. I prefer brown sugar lumps served using a set of tongs, from a small, sealable, jar which, I find, manages the "hygiene" problem rather well. The smoothest coffee I’ve ever had, finished my 1st one and was so tempted to immediately buy another!

They allow dogs inside (just understandably not on the sofas!) and have a little jar of free dog treats on the counter too.

Their decor is eclectic and a lot of care has clearly been taken into the branding and aesthetic with coasters, wall hangings, and pillows. It would be nice to see the menu a little clearer and maybe some explanations on what some of the drinks they offered are for us casual coffee goers :)

The music that they were playing was great too, not too loud or too quiet so I’ll definitely be coming back to study with my laptop at the bar table.

They’re also very clearly supportive of other local businesses and it’s a great place to come and see the flyers on the wall about what’s going on around town. Plus it’s great to see the pride flags so proudly displayed in the window alongside their daily whiteboard display :)

Bean Shot Coffee is the heavyweight champion of the coffee world. There, I said it.

The coffee is SO good that one is never enough - expertly made and deliciously smooth. In fact, it's so good, so uniformly crafted, that no matter who made it, you always get the same great tasting coffee. As a customer, that's all I want. There's nothing worse than craving a good coffee, taking a sip and thinking "ugh - bitter!" - no, you don't have to worry about that here, my friend. The coffee here ticks every box, every time. As for the staff? They're heroes.They know your order, your quirks and make every customer feel like part of the Bean Shot family.
