Location: The restaurant is slightly tucked away from the main street, which actually works in your favourâthereâs plenty of street parking available. You can choose to sit inside or outside. It was a chilly evening when I visited, but I noticed they had outdoor heaters.
Food: Absolutely delicious! We ordered the garlic bread (proper Italian-styleânot the kind youâd get from Pizza Hut!), seafood tagliatelle (I asked to switch from spaghetti to tagliatelle and they were happy to do so), and a green salad. Portions were generous, and we packed up what we couldnât finish.
Service: Service was a bit slowâwe waited nearly an hour for our foodâbut I could see the staff were working hard and doing their best. It seemed very busy.
Overall: This place is clearly very popular. We tried calling in the evening to book a table, but no one picked up. We decided to walk in, and the restaurant was packed! Luckily, a staff member kindly found us a table. Iâd highly recommend booking in advanceâpreferably not on the same dayâas they seem too busy in the evenings to...
Read moreThis is the second time we have visited and both times were in large groups of around 10 or more and for special occasions and were pre-booked and one we had also pre-ordered. The first occasion we had pre-ordered and the wait time was very long. The good was lovely I have to say, but we are talking over an hour before all of us got our starters and again the main courses. I did think we should give the place another chance so a group of ten of us went back last week. We had pre-booked. It took 40 minutes for the staff to take our drinks order-so not a good start. The food order was taken after the drinks had arrived and that took an hour to arrive after that! The food was good as before but one of the waiting staff was quite rude to one of our party after she questioned an item on the bill. Unfortunate as the food is good, but as the same has happened twice I...
Read moreI usually rave over this place but last night's meal was rather disappointing. The lasagne was all cheese and watery tomato sauce, barely any meat. The dessert worse still. It was advertised as 'Homemade semifreddo with praline and a hot dark chocolate sauce.' What turned up was a tasteless lump of semi frozen cream, a few chopped nuts sprinkled over it and chocolate sauce out of a bottle poured over the top! How do I know it was out of a bottle? After 3 disappointing spoonfuls and having left the rest (I don't like the synthetic overly sweet sauce out of a bottle) it stayed liquid. If it had been an authentic chocolate sauce it would have solidified, it didn't. So please don't order this thinking you will get a genuine 'hot dark chocolate sauce' because you won't. If you like Mr Whippys choc sauce, have at it! Thankfully the company I was with more than...
