The location is perfect. Fowey, pronounced Foy apparently, is gorgeous šŸ˜ and there's a 10 minite walk through the woods down to Readymoney Beach where you can have a picnic and a paddle or a swim if you're brave. We will definitely come back to Fowey, but not Dairy Cottage. We know it's an old building and cobwebs are inevitable but the extent of cobwebs made it clear that this place hadn't been cleaned properly for some time. There were used tea towels in the washing machine and an unemptied bin in the bedroom. Some essential items were missing, for instance scissors in the kitchen, foil, pizza cutter. The property is listed as having a bbq. It doesn't. It has a stone area where you could place a disposable bbq. Grills are provided but are useless. It's listed as having a body board to use, which would have been great, but this is missing, we were told that maybe another family had taken it... okay, if that's the case then replace it. We were left with one toilet roll. Light bulbs needed replacing. The shower leaked through the kitchen ceiling. There's a coffee machine which uses pods but there were none available. All of this accumulated over the first couple of days, we made an initial complaint to the owner of the cottage, her response was "thanks for the feedback", not good enough. We were brought toilet roll, scissors and foil but these items should have been standard not an after thought following a complaint. The uncleanliness of the accommodation was dismissed and they didn't seem too concerned that water had come streaming through the ceiling, which probably explains why the house smells damp. Customer service was unacceptable. And spending a significant portion of our trip having to have back and forth conversations about this was no what I deem as a fun thing to do on holiday. Plus having to then make a formal complaint to the company we booked through was just another inconvenience. Even to just use as a base to explore Cornwall, this place was not up to standard.

We stayed here for a week in July - it’s a really nice place and has good space in it. The chairs are comfy and the beds were clean and nice to sleep on - there’s very little disturbances in the area. It’s only a 15 minute walk to get into the main town and there are bus services near by. The owners left a really helpful guide of things to do in the area and it’s a really nice environment all around - no noisy neighbours and well kept gardens. The only reason this is 4/5 is because there was quite a lot of dust around and a slightly temperamental shower. I have a sensitivity to dust and so does my sister so the cobwebs and dusty surfaces weren’t ideal.

Beautiful cottages in an amazing location. Lovely 15 min walk through a woodland path to Readymoney Cove. Steep walk to the town but easy for able bodied. Our family loved our stay here and already want to come back.
