Date visited 18 March 2024. My family and I are visiting the area from Cambridge for a week staycation. We decided to have a day trip to the picturesque village of Fowey. While there we decided to stop for coffee and cake but to my surprise I saw American pancakes on the menu. As I am an American. I wanted to try these American pancakes. I decided to have the bacon maple pancakes.
The pancakes were homemade, golden brown in color stacked 3 high with crispy bacon between each stack!!!! The pancakes were made to perfection in my opinion. Not to small, not to thick, light and fluffy. This was a real American pancakes prepared the American way!!!! The rest of my family said that thier coffees and cakes were 5 stars as well!!! Read moreI had brunch here with my partner on Friday the 7th of May 2021.
After waiting in excess of 40 mins to get served, the waitress came and took our order. Immediately, she stated that the payment must be made before the order is brought out. I made payment and patiently watched her take orders from other tables. To my disappointment, no other table was asked to make a payment before the order is brought out. When our food came out, it was evident that our order had been mixed up.
I asked another staff member about the protocol to take payment before the order is brought out and they were apologetic on her behalf and kindly offered to refund the money for my brunch.
I appreciate this gesture and do hope that this is a one off. In the future, more appprpriate training should be given to the staff members.

Read moreThis was a frustrating experience as the place was recommended. However, the sheer cost of the food for its quality and quantity was poor. We ordered the lobster roll which barely had any lobster in it. For £17 it was a rip off. The real poor performer was the fish ‚tacos‘. These were flavourless, with the only bit of flavour being added by the tartar sauce which you had to add. £15 for such a meal is shockingly poor. Having waited just over 45 minutes to be served, the sheer price for the quality of food was next to day light robbery. Therefore if you’re looking for lunch, I’d recommend just getting a pasty at a much more reasonable £5-£6 from a bakery...
