A lovely little forest based hub for the Rangers. Situated in the middle of the discovery forest, The ranges lodge has lots of information, exhibits from the woodland, a little shop, lots of discovery interaction and even a learning hub. I noticed that they were weaving baskets when I visited and it looked really cool.

Very good, but a bit pricey to have to pay full price (£10) for a 21 month old as its a baby experience and he couldn't go in by himself so had to pay another £10 each for myself and my husband. Could have included 1 adult with the child's ticket. Cost us £30 for 45 minutes.

Such a great holiday. You can tell they've been used a lot by different people but not in a way that would put a germophobe (me) on edge. We were in a lovely area close to the water as well, so we got to see a lot of wildlife, including some wild kittens. They were extremely beautiful but very weary of us and would run over when we opened the French doors as if they were awaiting food. We saw 3 in all and a discussion of ducks along with many other species. Lodges are very well equipped and well kept. We had a fantastic time. Very spacious. The ONLY thing I would say is that the children's rooms are the closest to the open plan kitchen, diner and living room which made it hard as a group to put the little ones to sleep in the evening. The adults rooms are further away. It would be much more practical to have the rooms the other way around for...

Today we did Willow Weaving at the Rangers Lodge.

Ninety minutes of basic tuition and plenty of hands-on 'pra tical'.

As well as the obelisk, you could make a wreath and stars (depending on how quickly you worked) for Xmas (?) or whenever. Some ribbons and other decorative knick knacks where included to further enhance your creations.

Steve was great and showed us how to proceed. The pace was spot on for the mixture of adults and kids.

We all had a great time and I'd thoroughly recommend...

Was not sure what I was going to get when we went through those wooden gates, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The guy running it knew his stuff about the birds as you would expect, but he was also genuinely friendly, welcoming and interactive with the audience. You really get up close with this show and can...
