The meal was absolutely shocking and the customer service is disappointed , I’ve been to cafe rouge so many time but this is a disappointment.
Firstly my friend ordered a chicken baguette but got a steak baguette instead, he didn’t know so he took a bite and realised told the waitress “Paige” and she came to us ask if he have taken a bite, he said he have and she told us that he shouldn’t have done that because now they can’t sell it! We were stunt by her comment! Secondly we, me and my other friend ordered mussels not only it tasted fishy, bland and un-fresh but there were rotten mussels on there! So we doubled checked if before we ask to change the meal because we don’t want to be difficult and I appreciate how hard they work, but she kept telling us that the mussels are freshly delivered and trying to reassure us that it’s fine. I told her to have a look at these rotten mussels and does she expects us to eat that? She went on a strop and the manager Sammy came and took care of this instead. Which as a manager you would thought they would be pleasant at dealing with complaints and meal mix up and we were nice! We actually apologise for being difficult but the food is rotten? but their customer service is absolutely disgusting. Her tone of voice was arrogant and aggressive as in making us feel we were being difficult! And on top of this, they were not busy at all, I now know why they have...
Read moreOverall very poor, the restaurant wasn’t busy there was four other tables being used so for a Saturday lunch time that should have been our prompt to look elsewhere. Having a gluten and diary intolerance sometimes navigating the menu can be challenging so when asking the manager if a gluten free dish could also be dairy free to be told this was not possible didn’t surprise me, but as the manger I did expect some help into what could be produced to make a lunch time meal but this did not happen. So after no help I ended up having a portion of chips some chutney and some avocado, which I wouldn’t call a meal. This was then followed by having to wait just under an hour for our food to be delivered, the waitress then started clearing our table before one of the guests had finished and she had the audacity to ask if we wanted to look at the pudding menu, to which I replied maybe once I’ve finished my main thank you. Overall poor service, slow to produce food but quick to clear the table, the floor staff made themselves scarce and definitely don’t go if you have an intolerance as your made to feel unwanted and awakward. Will not...
Read moreCannot fault our experience here. Stayed at center parcs from the Friday and are leaving on the Friday. We came here at approximately 17:00 after a day at Longleat Safari park with a sleeping child in tow.
Firstly, the food was top tier. We have eaten at all restaurants at a fair few center parcs round the country and this one was among the top 3 from memory. We had pâté for starters (chicken liver), chicken pie and duck confit for mains and lemon tart + apple pie for dessert. All of which were wonderfully cooked, seasoned and of a reasonable size for a three course meal. Special credits to the duck which, despite its relative ease to cook, a lot of restaurants get very wrong.
Secondly, the service was also top notch. Our waitress, Scarlet went above and beyond for us. Firstly finding off menu wine pairings as my first choice wasn’t available, being attentive and pleasant all round. Special thanks to her for helping me and my wife have a lovely, quiet evening.
Will always recommend visiting this wonderful restaurant in such a wonderful family holiday...
