Don't let this place deceive you. Expect Weatherspoons quality food and drink at extortionate prices. That's an insult to weatherspoons as they actually reflect their products to their prices.
Food was frozen. Calamari was so so chewy, there was only 4 wings (5 of us and the waitress could have let us know). The nachos with refried beans were nearly £12 and it was a joke.... The portion was so small and there was about a handful of crisps. About a teaspoon each of the guac etc which was stingy for that price.
Noone checked back on our table, not once. Even at the end of the meal when we paid the bill. Staff ignored our table for ages and noone checked if we wanted more drinks, water or clear our table. Bought us the wrong quantity of plates, cutlery and glasses which meant when we were being served, they were wasting their own time by going back and forth.
Half the cocktail menu was missing and basically all the good ones weren't available (they didn't pre warm us this, it was a case of saying "we don't have that", every time we went to order something).
I can confidently say I won't ever be going back to las iguanas. And If you're staying at centre parcs, save your time and money and cook at your lodge. You'll have a better meal and experience. This was our night to splash out and have a good time and it was the furthest thing from a good time.
Considering the service was impeccable all week at the whole park, this experience really let us down. Expensive...
Read moreIgnore all the bad reviews. Hundreds of people who enjoyed their meal rarely post reviews after eating out. . But my wife and I are on a budget and we thought we would splash out and treat ourselves. We were not disappointed. In our pictures, you will see our food. I had the XinXim curry. My wife had the Burrito with Chipotle beef. We also ordered single nachos with shredded beef. The young lady who served us was very caring and was happy to help. She checked in with us regularly to see if we were OK. The cocktails were good and the food arrived in good time. 👍 The XinXim curry was mind-blowing. I'm a big guy and was worried that the portions would be small. But it was a proper-sized meal. So much flavour and each mouthful was a treat. I had ordered the Nachos to top up our meal just in case the mains were too small. But we struggled to eat it all. My wife's meal very tasty. She is Mauritian and loves spicy, flavourful food and she loved her dinner. Beware......if you are not good with chilli....the red finger chili's are hot, but my wife loved them. We sat back at the end of the meal completely satisfied. The restaurant was full and the service was good.👌 I knew going into the restaurant that it was going to be more expensive than I normally spend. But with food that tastes that good, you don't mind paying a little bit more. A lovely evening out. And when we return we will be...
Read moreI don't normally leave reviews but I'm pretty cheesed off with this one! Given Las iguanas was the most expensive restaurant we went to at center parcs I was pretty disappointed. I shall explain why, keep reading my friends! I ordered fajitas at £18.50. All the usual accompaniments, salsa, sour cream etc. And a few crumbs of grated cheese. You know those tiny ramekins you get for your ketchup in restaurants? (And you end up having to ask for more) well thats what my tea spoon of cheese came in. Now we all appreciate the cost of living crisis, but this felt as opportunistic as my current outrageous mortgage rate. I asked for more, at which I imagined the server gets asked from every single customer. It arrived about 15 minutes later after having to remind said server, to be given another mouse size ramekin of grated cheese. I rolled my eyes and carried on with my dinner, brushing it off as another corporate food chain cutting back without considering customer experience. However as we left and settled (the pretty expensive) bill, I noticed that I'd been charged 1.50 for the extra 12 grains of cheese I asked for! Not a bad restaurant all round although it's ambitions outweigh what it delivers. Would have been happier with a Pret or pizza hut to be honest. Either don't bother going, or if you do, bring...
