Sherwood Guest House — Hotel in Hastings

The location is close to the beach and a short, easy walk to the town centre. There is no off street parking but a parking permit is provided for on street parking. We arrived just before 6pm and found a spot in the next street. Soon after checking in there was a free spot just across the road so with a bit of patience you should be able to park reasonably conveniently. The bonus is that the permit is for a broad area, allowing you to park in other areas around town during the time allowed.||||The room was fantastic. It was really spacious, had a nice outlook towards the beach from one side, with all the usual things you might expect but also lots of nice extras like a bedside clock, a power point by the mirror, tissues and even cotton buds. The towels and linen were of very good quality. The room had a very decorative ceiling which had not been spoiled when the ensuite was added in.||||The host was very welcoming and helpful. Perfectly decent B & B representing good value for money. Stayed there with GF in a double room with ensuite bathroom at the top of the property with views at the garden. My rating is 4 stars but I'm awarding 5 stars on the rating system to offset some of the unfair reviews below. (I think it's awful and unfair that an individual with a grudge can do so much reputational damage). Plus side: Jim and Jeanette friendly and welcoming enough without being overbearing. This one doesnt even deserve a star. Not at all. Worst B&B ever. Hotel is outdated. Bathroom facility is so poor. Water wont drain while showering, cob webs all over the place and the towels, gosh the towels, it wouldnt hurt to replace them every few years, they are so worn out. Beds are so old you cant sleep comfortably. Worst part is that hosts are rude. We were told they can let us sleep on the street knowing we have kids. Really? I hope no one else treats your kids/grandkids the way you treat your guests. We hope no one else will be treated the way we were. Please beware of checking in to this hotel. Don't waste your money.
