Edited to add, I gave you £12:20 for a £12:10 bill, I thanked you when I collected our food and when I collected my friends drink, I did not thank you when I left because you had been petty and put less filling in my roll because I’d dated query your pricing, I am NOT an awful person but I do expect a decent amount of customer service, im sorry you were already having a bad day, that is not your customers fault. The customer service at this place is atrocious, they made me feel unwelcome from the start, it’s not obvious that is a vegan place as the menu for sausage baguette or brioche bun was was written in a way that would lead you to believe there were 3 options available! After I queried paying £1:60 for a £1:00 price marked can of drink they argued that it was a recommended retail price and started ranting about their overheads and not being a big business, then adding that they’d picked up the wrong ones anyway, good customer service then would have been to graciously sell it for the £1:00 it was priced at as a price marked item is not a recommendation, they did say they would then charged full price, when I queried again they reluctantly gave me the difference back, the worst part of this interaction was when the food arrived they were obviously so petty that they put one tiny sausage in the bun, this is disgusting customer service, I did not give them the satisfaction of challenging them but instead they can have this review! It’s a real shame they behaved that way as that could be a great little business if only they knew how to treat people, it’s also a shame as the food was actually nice but they will NOT be getting my...
Read moreIt’s such a shame I would love for this cafe to be great as it’s in such a lovely location but unfortunately everything I’ve ever had has been over priced and pretty mediocre. I think this place is vegetarian? It’s hard to say as it’s not properly advertised as such. So a surprise when I ordered a sausage sandwich and received a roll with one vegetarian sausage in. I don’t mind vegetarian if it’s good quality which sadly this wasn’t. Sometimes they advertise special dishes on Facebook but they are very rarely available when you go there. If service with a smile is what you are after then this place also isn’t for you, very abrupt and border line rude customer service is all that’s available I’m afraid. As I say it’s a real shame as in such...
Read moreThe café now opens on a more regular basis when the weather is good. The vegan fish & chips (banana blossom) was the best anywhere but has not been popular. The food, cakes and vegan sausage roll is different to others they are lovely and the messiest to eat ones are very popular.
You can visit from West St. Leonards Rail station or cycle from Ore Hastings, Bex Hill the cycle route is lovely and this is a perfect stop off. The bathing hut café is the most calming place, and it hosts other food pop-ups sometimes.
I usually bring my own mug, pictured and the toasted sandwich was when Plant the Seed...
