A great local pub that offers something more traditional than others in the area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They have a good pub-grub menu and a blackboard of specials. I ordered the lasagne from the specials and was really expecting a microwaved meal despite it being on the specials list, but I was surprised to receive a huge homemade portion with a mountain of chips and salad. The lasagne was very tasty and had peppers in it which was great for added veg, the only feedback would be that I’d have liked it to have more tomato in the mince. I couldn’t finish the huge serving but was kindly offered a doggy bag. I have never been in such a clean pub, everything was immaculate, including the toilets. All stock behind the bar was arranged with military precision with not a speck of dust. Even the condiments on the dresser were neatly arranged with the labels facing forward! You could literally eat off the tables. If you want something trendy with IPAs, organic wines and small plates, this won’t be for you, but if you want something traditional, filling and friendly, then I’d recommend this place.

Friendly pub, with great beer garden for those with dogs! Food looks great as well, so back this evening for some grub! šŸ‘ Update....and so went back for a meal in the evening and was not disappointed! Good range of choices on the menu, with many items listed as home-made, which is great to see. I opted for the 1/2 lb Angus burger which was superb and cooked to perfection! Served with a generous portion of delicious skin-on fries, salad, and tasty home-made coleslaw, this was definitely a real hunger-buster. The staff are great and very friendly, as were the locals. All-in-all, a pub that is well worth visiting whether for a drink or a meal!

Great food, welcoming staff, nice atmosphere. We visited the Bo Peep for the first time in late May 2024. We were a ā€˜walk-in’. Staff were friendly and polite. We ordered ham, egg and chips and fish & chips. Both meals were excellent and way above normal pub grub. Highly recommend

A week ago we came in as customers for a drink and I gave it a four.

We looked at the menu and thought we would come back, which we did and what inferior poor quality the roast beef was.

It was chewy and the cauliflower was so hard that I doubt eveh a ferret could gnaw through it.

The roast potatoes were very soft and stodgy and I dread to think what the hell these people cook them in. Pork? Goose fat?

On the menu it said nothing about pigs in blankets being stuffed into yorkshire puddings as part of the roast beef. As a result I couldn't eat the yourkshires as they had had pig flesh on them. No doubt the stuffing was part pork sausage meat also. Who the hell had stuffing with roast beef anyway?

The issue here is that I am Jewish and I feel that these people either do not have a care in the world or have any knowledge of peoples dietary needs or beliefs.

Had the board or the menu stated these items, I would have requested not to have them.

It was very difficult for my partner to get me to eat within the borough and the Bo Peep reaffirms the reason why we dont.

The meat was of such an inferior quality and I do not expect to dine out and have something barely fit for pig swill.

The staff were told quietly about my predicament and after making out they couldn't hear me first time, managed to utter a sorry after.

Now with the damage done, one may expect a free desert but no, no such thing.

I appreciate that the Bo Peep has been in the same family for some years but the previous generation have passed on and as a result it has gone down the pan.

This is not the first bad review this dump has had this week. I predict bank ruptcy and the boards up within eighteen months.

Just don't...

Staff are great, so friendly and helpful. Especially the lady who works the day shift. We have enjoyed food and family events here, on several occasions. However the food can be hit or miss depending on busyness and the owner can be difficult, and confrontational which is a real shame for a local pub. Watched him throw a customer's belongings because they were charging something from a socket. The customer was there with his young son. It made many people uncomfortable, it is 2019 people want to charge things. We have been in the area for 3 months and been using the bo peep regularly. Seeing the owner react aggressively to a customer it now means we will try another pub...
