The sauteed prawns were served with "burnt pan" flavouring the dish and the prawns were not so "King". Couldn't really taste any of the flavours promised on the menu. The mains, once we found something that hadn't sold out, were nothing to write home about. The roast beef dinner didn't have any greens with it, (no broccoli or peas etc.), 1 small carrot and 1 small slice of parsnip, 3 small potatoes, over cooked yorkshire pudding, grim red cabbage and when asked for mustard we were given mayo??!! The fish and chips was the same standard as you would get in a Wetherspoon pub and the chips were under cooked. Then the desert menu had half the items missing so we didn't bother ordering anything. So we just waited an age for the waiter to come back and ask for the bill. The lager was flat-ish too. We weren't asked if we wanted drinks during the dinner. The table next to us made the comment "faulty towers" and I think that was quite apt. Really not the standard that it was a year ago, well over priced for what it is. £70+ for 3 people to have a Sunday lunch is not really that good considering what was put on the plate in front of us. Will not be returning. When the waiter did serve us, he was lovely and very polite and pleasant, just a shame everything else was not of the level you'd expect - or not even close. Nice...

he incident began at the train station and continued along the road, eventually taking place outside the pub but still on its property, in the area with chairs and umbrellas. While outside with a drink, the customer asked where you were from. After you replied with your European country of origin, the customer swore at you and told you, “You’re not British, get out of here.” When the police arrived, the customer went inside the pub to hide.

“It is very difficult to feel integrated in this country when encountering racist behaviour like this in Radlett. Such conduct is both shocking and unacceptable. Furthermore, it appears the manager was not aware of the situation.”

I couldn't sleep last night because of the situation on the train station and the pub.

I felt Unwelcomed. hurt, stressed about the situation, even other customers did not come to help or stop the Racist person, it seems you encourage racism and allow racism outside your pub even if its outside while your customer was holding a drink.

Also a messgae to the manager reading this: You don't know the full story, your understanding of the situation, please don't get to conclusion and just report it to make your google reviews good.

You also need do your part to stop racism, you probably have served the crazy racist customer again, do not allow racist people...

Enjoyed our stay, lovely staff, situated in an ideal place with plenty of places to go out and eat. The food in the hotel was lovely and decent price, bar and restaurant was beautiful and had quite a rustic look to it. Pub was attached to hotel but noise of beer garden outside didn't come through our windows or disturb us. The bedroom was lovely with beautiful photos of the village. Basic tv in the room with freeview and plenty of wardrobe space. Bathroom was beautiful as well and clean. The only thing I can fault is we stayed Tuesday to Thursday and no one had been to our room to refresh our towels, empty the bins or refresh toilet roll. Radiator in our bathroom was hanging off the wall which I notified reception then the next morning it completely fell off which could have injured us but luckily didn't. This resulted in me having to get ready in the public toilets in the pub due to maintenance being in the bathroom. But they came straight out when we told them so it was alright. I think if it wasn't for the lack of house keeping and the radiator situation I would...

My parents used the Red Lion as their base during their recent trip to the UK, the refurbishment is very impressive. During their time here they stayed in four different rooms and all were finished to a high standard. The staff were great with my elderly parents helping them navigate and providing excellent service. One point to note is as with most older establishments there are a few stairs to navigate to get to the rooms, my parents managed well and the staff were great helping with bags. We had a number of meals there during their visit and we were impressed.

Stayed here when attending a wedding at Shenley Cricket Club. Lovely room - felt like a boutique hotel - slightly unexpected in the centre of Radlett. Simona gave us the warmest welcome on check-in, check-out and during breakfast service. The car park has a security barrier, requiring you to call the pub to get the entry code, which is a slight nuisance but understandable, given that it is virtually opposite the mainline station. My only criticism is that breakfast wasn’t very warm, but the other positives make it deserving of five stars.

Lovely room, very modern bathroom, huge bed, all very clean. Staff were friendly. Nice pub/hotel, has some character. Continental breakfast was ok - croissants, cereal, yogurts and juice were available from the buffet table, but toast, all of two slices, was a paid extra. When I had breakfast on my second morning at 8.30, I had the stereo blasting out pop songs, the TV blaring out sports commentary and the cleaner hoovering around me. Not a good experience. The veggie breakfast was pretty good though.
