I needed a place to stay relatively close to St Pancras Station prior to getting an early morning Eurostar service. I didn't want to stay in an overpriced mediocre hotel near St Pancras and wanted something different. ||I found Central Victorian House purely by chance and at a good price. It is located a short distance from the centre of Camden. I arrived late in the evening and I had no problems finding the property. The hosts were not on-site so the checking-in process and the collecting of keys were explained to me in various messages sent through the booking.com portal and all went without a hitch. ||Immediately on entering the grounds of the property I knew that I had made a good choice. The double room was spacious and very nicely decorated and well appointed with a hugely comfortable bed, sofa, a generous hospitality tray and was an extremely pleasant space to spend the night. ||The room wasn't en-suite but there was a nicely appointed bathroom on the same floor a few steps from the room. I enjoyed my short stay, it was a short journey by uber to St Pancras to catch my Eurostar service. I would...
Read moreThe location of the accommodation was convenient in that it was a 15 minute walk into Camden Markets. The beds were clean and comfy. However, that’s as far as the positives go. I was very disappointed by the fact that there were two cats constantly in the house. They slept on the stairway and successfully entered the bedrooms on many occasions. This morning when leaving, there was cat faeces outside the bedroom. There was bloodstains on the outside of our bedroom door which remained there for the duration. Another aspect of this property that was very disappointing was the level of noise. There was a party which continued until 5.30am on our first night and while it wasn’t as late the second night, it did continue into the early hours. Finally, we had a shared bathroom and, while we were fortunate enough to share this with friends, it is absolutely not something I would be happy to do with strangers. I did not make the booking so I was unaware of the facilities but I would never stay again nor recommend this...
Read moreA lovely hotel near Camden! We booked and a few days before our visit we realised we had booked a shared bathroom room- I contacted the property and we upgraded to the ensuite room on the top floor. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and really well appointed. It had windows either side and felt very welcoming.|Bed was super comfy, pillows and duvet clean and fresh. The tea tray was very generous and well stocked- plenty of biscuits much to my husbands delight. We also found slippers, ear plugs and a good hairdryer. We didn't use it but the fridge was a nice touch too. The cats were super friendly!|My only issue was the shower over the bath was more style over function! The curtain is too small and once you are enclosed in the curtain to prevent splashes you can't get to your shampoo, shower get etc! But I managed!|We would def book here again if we going to see another gig at the O2...
