Absolutely disgusting — avoid at all costs.
We contacted the property multiple times requesting a refund of £230 and were completely ignored. No response, no acknowledgment — just silence.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was horrifying. A clearly intoxicated woman was doing drugs and had feces on her trousers while loitering outside the broken front door. Our ground-floor apartment was directly beside her, and we immediately felt unsafe.
Inside, things were no better:
The kitchen was filthy, with grime on the counters and appliances that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time The cutlery was stained, making it unusable and completely unhygienic There was visible mould on the sofas, walls, and in the bathroom — absolutely unacceptable for any living space A pubic hair was left on the toilet, which was revolting and showed a total lack of cleaning One of the dining chairs had a large, visible stain, suggesting it had never been cleaned Overall, the apartment was dirty, neglected, and completely unfit for guests
We left within 10 minutes. This was advertised as a “luxury” stay — instead, it was one of the most disgusting and disturbing experiences we’ve ever had.
We also contacted Ilford Grand Hotel, which owns Ilford Luxury Apartments, multiple times regarding the £230 owed to us — and they ignored us as well. Do not stay there either.
I repeat: do...
Read moreThis is a copy of the email I sent on our arrival at the apartment. I have received no response to my complaint, further emails or telephone calls. Nor have I received the refund requested. As a result I am suing the company for my money back and costs. You can now come to your own conclusions as to whether it is a place for you to be staying in!
"Dear Nicole, We have arrived in the apartment. The only reason we are still here is because we arrived really late and my 4 year old has fallen asleep through sheer tiredness, otherwise I would have left immediately!
This apartment is disgraceful. Everything is broken or uncomfortable. It is noisy and tatty and the towels and bedding are cheap. I will be checking out first thing and expect a full refund. How on earth do you call this a 'luxury' apartment. Something is also not right about this place as I have done nothing but itch since arriving.
My husband was supposed to be joining me tomorrow night. He would be so angry that you have subjected his wife and children to this! I would be too embarrassed to show him this place and just want to forget I was ever here.
I am in the process of planning my Mother's funeral, whilst also undergoing building work. I can't do any planning as I am just awaiting first light so I can get myself and my children out of here!
Yours...
Read morePathetic service and attitude, especially from the reception staff (claimed his name was Mohit Mohit).
First, when we arrived on day-1, we were sent to a different building than the one we had booked late in the night. We were willing to overlook this issue as the room specifications were similar to the one we had booked. However, the TV in the room didn’t work for at least 4 days during our stay. When reporting this issue on the 6th night, forget being helpful or empathetic, the staff (Mohit Mohit), didn’t even have the courtesy to apologise for the inconvenience. This was despite, repeatedly reporting that this was the second break down, with four days of non-functioning service that was claimed by the establishment and charged for. Instead, he (Mohit Mohit) chooses to be patronise paying guests, exhibits his flair for sarcasm and explains that being not helpful is a part of his job responsibilities, along with reporting issues, without resolving them.
Definitely avoidable, especially if you are travelling with small kids. Also, avoid our friend Mohit Mohit like plague, unless you are looking for lack of eye contact and unhelpful explanations on his job...
