Today, my experience at Wetherspoons was deeply disappointing. Despite the great food, the customer service was absolutely unacceptable. The main issue was with our waiter, who single-handedly ruined what should have been a pleasant meal.
We ordered a chicken burrito bowl, but when our food arrived, there was no chicken. We asked our waiter about this, but he insisted we hadn't ordered it. We explained that there must have been a misunderstanding, and asked for the chicken to be brought to us but he refused to help and went off to "investigate." When he returned, he firmly stated that chicken wasn't on our order, dismissing our complaint and leaving us frustrated and refusing to give us the chicken.
We were pressed for time and had simply wanted a quick, good meal. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the waiter became defensive and asked if we wanted to speak to the manager. However, despite our repeated requests, he clearly made no effort to get the manager, instead continuing to serve other customers and ignoring us.
After asking a third time, during which he became defensive and shouty, another staff member approached us and asked if we wanted a refund. We explained we didn't want a refund or to file a formal complaint; we just wanted the chicken we had originally ordered, even if it meant paying extra. Unfortunately, this simple solution was never offered.
We were left feeling deeply upset by the poor service we received. We have always chosen Wetherspoons for its usually quick and good service, but today's experience has made us rethink our loyalty. If the management wishes to investigate, we were at table 19 and our meals were served at 18:38. This was a disheartening experience that reflects poorly on what we expect from...
Read moreI came with my friends, few minutes back to have some drinks. But unfortunately our visit was haulted, and our meetup and spending evening together turned out a chaotic experience, due to a rude lady behind the bar.
We ordered 5 Jaipur Ale. We havent paid yet. She started pouring it and had poured 2, then I calmly requested to change the order to 3 Jaipur Ale and 2 ciders, she started telling that she cant change the order and cant put void as it looks bad on her side, and she might have to be responsible for putting void on the till and cant change the order.
I mentioned, my friend and I work in Marriot and all the football stadiums behind the bar, so we know how it works, and she can definitely change it. And its not that we arent taking any Jaipur ale, as she had poured 2, we wanted to take 3 Jaipur Ale and change the other 2 to ciders, ofcourse we havent paid yet so Ig we can do that right?
Now she started making a scene, when I called for a manager, she started shouting and when my friend wanted to explain and ask why cant we change order, she started to shout at us.
This created a whole chaotic environment, obviously as the voices rose a bit, we were told to leave the venue in a very unruly manner where The ‘’Manager lady with glasses” was also on her side without listening to us.
I would really recommend to keep someone who has the basic decency to speak to Customers behind the bar.
And the worst part was we all were sober. And did not even have a single drink the entire evening. We all met today after a very long time, from different parts of UK to my place.
Hope you take correct action for the...
Read moreMost Staff and even customers dare I say it know me here now. A warm and very cosy High Street Public House and Free House on the Cranbrook Road in Ilford. The odd troublemaker but they don't last long. Not in here anyways. Broke up three fights here myself to keep the peace before they even started. Food gets washed down well here as 155 drinks or so to choose from to do it with. A multilevel pub all on the one floor and a garden at the back too. A 500 seater with 100 tables or so staff are great at dealing with larger parties I've noticed. Plenty of plug sockets too for square eyed people too. Warm and cosy. They've even had the doors repaired and realigned now recently too. Busy on Fri Sat and Sunday. Great security. Half the Staff or more are ex bouncers too. We get on well. A lovely place to train your babies how to eat and behave in public.VERY safe for them. I have been attending this pub for 5 years or so now and cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and dedicated hard work. 10/10. Enjoy. JCNEWMAN. Sunday 29 12 24. Happy New Year To All.
