Cafe Bueno — Restaurant in London

I visited on 14 January’19 with my partner as a year ago he had taken me there and I was impressed with the variety of dishes on the menu. A young waitresses with language barrier, came to take our order. One food order was taken for my partner with drinks and the waitress walked off after taking time to work out what herbal tea choice for me. The waitress then turned up with the drinks, and 5 minutes later my partner received his meal. I was left without a food order. I argued with my partner that an order hadn’t been taken for me but he was convinced that the waitress had acted professionally and had taken my order but that wasn’t the case. I sat there and watched my partner eat his meal whilst the waitresses just watched with her colleagues without any customer care attitude then when eventually my partner had finished eating we had to call the waitress and explained that she hadn’t taken my order. No apologies were given, however the chef was very quick to prepare it and the cafe was quiet fir mid afternoon. Staff seems very anxious to finish. Then half way through my meal they started to laugh at something whilst my partner had visited the bathroom and that’s when I felt offended. I was put off my meal and would have like to have had a desert but felt upset. I will not recommend this cafe on this basis of immature and unprofessional behaviour. As I entered café, Bueno in Romford High Street I was greeted by a lovely young lady with exceptional manners who took our order in a great way and made us feel welcome. However the the food that was presented to us was absolutely diabolical. I had avocado, brown toast and poached eggs. The eggs were overcooked and the rest was bland, and tasteless. My friend who came in with me had a chicken shish. The chicken was hard and undercooked the lady who I believe to be the manager try to force me to pay for a meal that was undercooked and was not up to standard. She was absolutely disgusting. This woman spit more venom than a viper. She was strutting up and down the café floor, flicking her denture in the front of her mouth with her tongue. It was absolutely disgusting, and it turned my stomach. People do not want to be looking at a woman, flicking her dentures, while they are eating, especially a woman, that’s meant to be serving you. and then had the absolute cheek to call my friend, a cheapskate because he didn’t want to pay for a uncooked meal and accused him of running out of the shop without payment she caused a humongous scene for absolutely no reason this woman is rude and disgusting and needs to be sacked. Immediately her attitude is undeniably the worst. I’ve seen in my 25 years of walking...

Today we had as a waitress Rosie. She was nice and smiling all time. She was so professional what i did not see for a while at Romford coffee shops. She did ask "Are you ready to order?" sounds so basic but at most places they are not asking it. She took our order and when i ordered a set 1 menu with cappuccino she nicely informed if i choose flat white in this case it is included in the set. Even she could explain the difference between them. So unique, none of the other place had this experience. When the order was done she nicely read it back and asked "anything else?" Nice! She makes sure that the costumer did not forget anything and giving the possibility to make more business. Basic but unfortunately still unique.

The place is clean, easy to find a place to sit, food quality is average.(please stop to pre-butter the bread, not everyone like it with butter), music too loud, owner or Manager I do not know who was exactly but should start smiling and be a little bit more costumer focused. I counted 13 cameras in this little coffee shop... Is it a bank or what?

Overall still 5* compared with other coffee...
