Worst ever place please keep your distance from this place. I like to give no star or negative star if possible but unfortunately can’t do that. Just visited this place and regretted after going there. These people has just ruined our evening, I went with my team of 7 ordered drinks, starters and mains. Most of the drinks and starters were served in reasonable time and one starter come after mains. 3 main dishes were served after 45 mins with last starter and thereafter nightmare has started, manager has approached us and requested to change the order of 3 mains as they have only 1 fire cracker dish left. When we asked why is that and why you are telling us after 45 mins of wait and after serving 3 mains which means rest of us have to wait another 15-20 mins and we have been told that chef has only realised now that they can only serve 1 so please change your order. Nightmare hasn’t stopped here we have changed order for 3 and 1 fire cracker. 3 revised dishes were served after 20 - 25 mins, but 4th dish is still missing that magic fire cracker, when asked manager where’s our 4th dish she went to check and disappeared. After 10 mins of wait we asked another waitress about the 4th dish, she went to check and after few mins she came back without dish and we have been told that Chef is about to start cooking our dish. Seriously we couldn’t believe this and we decided to cancel the order and return other 3 dishes as well and requested to call the manager. Waitress came back after 10 mins and we been told that manager is busy and she will come soon after finishing her work. 10 mins gone and finally manager has come with another story and offered complimentary desert and free meal. Seriously we haven’t had our mains and you are offering us desert and we didn’t go for free meals we were there to enjoy our time so we decided to leave without having any meal. I couldn’t believe how these people are running this place no planning, no coordination, no management and nobody is ready to take any responsibility and everyone is blaming each other. I’m from same industry as well and I know these things do happen but not at this level and if this happens than someone responsible come forward to deal with it and make things right not to make things worst. However for a newly opened restaurant I was troubled by the attitude of the staff. It was near the end of their lunch busy period when we arrived and we were offered a seat that was a little small for us as we had shopping, my wife asked if we could sit somewhere else and we were offered a choice, one option had a dirty floor with spilt drink on the floor and messy table. They cleaned it up, and we sat there. In a new restaurant I would expect staff to be on point with everything, it wasn't that busy for a staff memeber to be cleaning tables as soon as someone leaves that spot so it's ready forbthe next customer, if that wasn't in the training as a new member of a new restaurant I'd expect initiative to be taken and staff to just do it.
The table next to us were annoyed at the service and complaining at one member of their party getting their food 30 mins after the rest of the party, the waiter came over towards us as I was ready to order but told me to wait as he served another table. Then he came back and took our order, the table next were frustrated at the lack of urgency in serving them as with them already annoyed at the lack of speedy service of their food they expected better.
The waiter was very confident of himself and a bit too confident as that approach angered those who felt the service was below expected and also came across to us as him having no urgency.
I decided to take matters into my own hands when we wanted to leave and used the QR code on the table to pay the bill and leave.
What struck me was how all the staff seemed not to enjoy working there, strange for a new resturant to have so many people lookibg luke they didn't feel comfortable in what effectively is their environment.
All in all go there for food but don't expect too much...

Alan Before we order he asked if we had any allergens and was very polite after our food was done he came back for check back and also gave us the bill, he didn’t personally ask me if I wanted any dessert but I haven’t check back with my Mrs.
Chelsea Seated us as soon as we arrived and also complimented us before our meal arrived. She then was working very hard to keep the area clean, but I think she was the only one.
Food/drinks Drinks came at a reasonable time. Food came at a very reasonable time I would say 12 minutes but unfortunately didn’t serve with cutlery, we ordered the katsu curry which is their popular dish and was delicious and well presented.
Manager The manager of the branch Alvin correct me if I didn’t spell it correctly, was very polite but too kind. Would like to see if he does the same to other customers or just because of a review. And I was right with my assumption as we left we spoke to some of the customers and asked them if they was asked about their experience and food and unfortunately they did not check back with the couple.
Hygiene The toilets was in an absolute state and I mean toilets I went into all 4 stolls and they were also in a disgusting state. I asked the manager who was on shift Claudia how often they get cleaned and was told every 30 minutes which should be cut in half
General Over all expectations was satisfactory due to the hygiene of the environment the toilet and some of the staff who also handled food was very poor, staff leaving tables in a mess and one restaurant cook whipping his nose and rubbing it on his chief whites. There for i reward Wagamamas Romford 3 stars.
I will be revisiting this location for a reevaluation, hopefully I can then reward...
