Stayed here for 6 nights with a family member.

Safety: In order to get to the elevator and stairs, you have to use your room key to unlock the double doors which would put solo travellers at ease.

Space: The elevators are tiny yet efficient. Can fit two people plus luggage in one or at least four people without luggage.

Room: The room was small and the beds were only 1-2 feet apart. In order to get to the bed by the window, you need to shimmy" against the wall (don't hit your shoulder on the TV like I did!") or climb over the other bed. The beds were comfortable, and we could not hear any sounds. Some parts of the floor were slippery, and I almost fell a couple of times. Try to be careful and walk in bare feet.

There are shelves behind one of the mirrors and four hooks that contain four hangers. Suitcases can fit under the beds. Bathroom is shower only and is quite small. There is a mirror outside of the bathroom with a quality hair dryer plugged in and ready to go.

Beside each bed is a charging station. Each charging station has one USB outbut, one USB-C and room for two UK plugs.

Location: It's a 5-7 minute walk to the tube/St. Pancras International station. It took us 15-30 minutes via tube to get to places such as Notting Hill, Camden Market, Piccadilly, Covent Garden and Oxford Street.

There is a McDonald's and a Five Guys nearby. There are many other restaurants, stores and fast food chains (ie Starbucks) in the stations. Next door was a pub called The Water Rats. We did not eat there so I cannot provide a review.

Cleanliness: The room was clean at arrival; however, house keeping only cleans during the third night of your stay. I did notice by day 5 of our trip my feet gathered dirt from the floor. You have to pay an additional fee if you wish for an extra day or so of housekeeping. The lobby, downstairs food hall and entry ways were clean.

If you need anything (extra towels, more toilet paper, more garbage bags as they don't empty them) you can talk to the front desk.

Staff: We enjoyed meeting the staff as they were kind and helpful. Please be kind and patient as many of them speak English as an additional language. They gave us extra towels upon request.

Food: The continental breakfast was an additional 13 ponds per day as we booked through Expedia. Breakfast items included hard boiled eggs, fruit, pastries, yogurt, water, juice and two coffee machines. They had gluten free bread, muffins and croissants upon request.

Conclusion: Point A Hotel is safe, comfortable and convenient place to stay. Be aware before you leave about the small room size and that you may need to speak to the front desk frequently if you require more towels and toiletries.

Service is 3 stars because of having to pay for additional housekeeping and asking for more towels etc.

Rooms are 4 stars because of size, and could use more storage space.

I would...

If there is a place that wants to make the most out of their guests, it’s definitely this one. BEWARE! The best part was probably the location and the booking process, because once at the hotel everything started to go south. Upon our arrival at around 11am we were told we could not check in because the rooms were not ready and that we would have to leave our luggage in one of their rooms. Upon our return from walking around the city, we were finally able to get our rooms. To our surprise, one of the two rooms we had booked, the double one, looked nothing like the pictures (both on the hotel’s website and/or Booking). The double room we got was a shoe box, the smallest one on the floor as per the blueprints with almost no space to move around, tiny bed for two people, tiny bathroom. Therefore, I complained to one of the staff members, who was kind enough to check the room and assured me he would leave a note so we could switch rooms the next day. To my surprise, I was told that many people in central London want to make the most out of tourists and that this might be the reason why the hotel gets so many complaints about the rooms not matching the agencies descriptions. However, despite having checked both the hotel’s website and several booking sites, the pictures displayed are exactly the same. Furthermore, it was mentioned that we were allocated such a tiny room because we checked in late, despite having been told that our rooms were not ready. Next day morning, I went downstairs to inquire for the new room but there was no note left about the complaint, nor the request to switch rooms, so I had to explain everything again to the lady at reception. Instead of trying to solve the issue, she tried to talk me out by saying “but you’re checking out tomorrow”, which triggered quite some noticeable anger after not resting well. Therefore, she instructed me to checkout, drop the key card, and assured me that the new room was already allocated and that we could have it by the evening. However, and again, to our additional disappointment, upon our arrival in the afternoon, the receptionist had no clue about our situation. Again, there were no reports, no requests, nor allocated rooms. After a third explanation and some calls, we were finally able to head to our room (the one that we had actually booked and matched the booking description). Yet, we could not sleep well due to the annoying and creepy sound of the elevator. The cherry on the top was when, despite the issues with the rooms, we asked to leave our luggage on hold until our departure, and we were told that there was a free allowance for only ONE piece of luggage per room, which is absolutely ridiculous, when a double, and/or twin rooms are booked. We ended up paying without even being offered to store our stuff...

We've spent few nights in the Point A London (Kings Cross) in August and finally I have a moment to put that small note. Review, or what we've felt with my partner.

The assigned room was: clinically clean, bathroom was squeaky clean and had very nice vegan products for hair and body it had very comfy bed (although I was worried that mattress was too soft on first look, this was not the case), very good linens and soft, fluffy towels.

One minus: towels were changed every single day even if we've left them hanging on a hook to keep them in the room (there was a note: if you want towels changed, put them on the floor). Hotel has the environment friendly policies, but this one was not really respected by cleaning staff.

About the hotel itself: we've met very reactive staff members (we could leave luggage before check-in and after check-out, which was very helpful as our schedule was packed with activities and not compatible with two suitcases) bar on place for people who need it (there's also very nice pub on the other side of the street, Lucas's... - this is not an ad, just trusted, and tested place) room was very small: 10m2, but for London standard is okay for a couple for short stay (also we had a room without window - but we knew about it during the booking, so no complaints here!) - mood lights were definitely helpful in the morning. breakfast buffet: proper, varied, good balance between sweet and salty, vegan products on offer! (Really appreciated, as I am vegetarian since more than 10 years and usually it's complicated to find vegan friendly options like that on hand), good coffee. Hotel offers also a takeaway bags with breakfast, but we've not tested that option. really close to St.Pancras/King's Cross station (good underground/bus/railway connection), it took us 6 mins walking one way.

Definitely next time in London, will be...

Living just outside London, I sometimes stay over after a late night show or meeting friends. I was really happy to find @Point A Hotels in King’s Cross, close to everything I needed. 📍The location is fantastic - just a 6-mins walk from King’s Cross Station, and can reach the buzzing Oxford Street in less than 20 minutes by tube. 🛏 The hotel itself is clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The rooms are compact, and have everything you need for a stress-free stay. I really appreciated the easy self check-in and check-out, which saved so much time, and the interiors felt bright and welcoming. 🥐 Breakfast offers plenty of options from pastries and cheeses to gluten-free and vegan choices, plus fresh coffee on tap. A great find for your next London stopover.✨ #pointahotels #visitlondon #kingscross #londontravel #affordablehotelsinlondon

The hotel is situated in a good location, walking distance from King's Cross Station. We took a room with a window. The style of the hotel is relatively modern, the room definitely needed some refurbishment as it was quite worn and tear all over the place. We probably would be OK with that as it a budget hotel, but windows and sound insulation is just unacceptable. It was terrible. The windows didn't close properly at all, and all the noise was coming from the busy street outside. It was nearly impossible to sleep during nighttime, as the hotel is situated on a very busy street even during the nighttime. Also, all those cracking squeaking noises coming from the ceiling, walls and everywhere else was very worrying and we felt that the ceiling might fall down any time. The en-suite area was clean and tidy, they have a very nice smell of hand soap and plenty of towels. However, the bed.... we are still confused what's the purpose of that bed. It supposes to be a double bed, but most likely it was just a large single bed. We barely fit there. Also, it was so high and bouncy and uncomfortable. The only purpose for that bed we could think of is either kid bouncing or ... well, adults bouncing 😉 other than that, it's definitely terrible for sleeping. The big advantage was breakfast. I think everyone is already tired of the "full English breakfast". Therefore we really enjoyed with light breakfast, various yoghurts, muesli, fresh bakery and all the coffees you can think of. However, a great breakfast hasn't justified terrible bed quality and all the noise coming from the street. It is probably a great budget hotel if you are a student coming just to sleep over after a few drinks last night and noise level and comfortable sleep is not a top priority for you. But if you are a tourist, I would pick a different hotel.
