A Serene Escape at the Old Boat Cafe ☕️

I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful afternoon at the Old Boat Cafe, nestled by the picturesque river in Maidstone. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the enchanting atmosphere that surrounded me. The gentle lapping of the water and the soft rustle of leaves created a soothing backdrop, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The cafe itself exudes charm with its rustic decor and inviting outdoor seating, allowing guests to soak in the fantastic atmosphere. Additionally, the friendly staff made my visit even more enjoyable, providing warm service with genuine smiles.

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful spot to unwind, enjoy a bite to eat, or simply take in the delightful atmosphere, the Old Boat Cafe is a must-visit destination. I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, already planning my next visit to this charming riverside retreat. Let’s just hope the weather holds for...

We love coming along to the Old Boat in the summer holidays. Always very welcoming and friendly! Quick service and delicious, freshly prepared food.

Today I ordered a ploughman’s which I shared with my two children. Very good value at £8.50. Delicious fresh salad, bread and butter, brie, cheddar, apple and piccalilli and pork pie. I ordered juice cartons for the children and a can of rhubarb fizzy drink for me. The waitress kindly provided a cup with ice for my drink and two separate plates for the children so that we could share the food.

On a previous occasion we have also sampled their ice cream which was also scrumptious!

The only reason I dropped a star for atmosphere is the uneven paving where we sit on the riverbank is a constant trip hazard for children and those unsteady on their feet! I realise this should be sorted by the council so not blaming the Old Boat staff at all, just pointing...

We had a lovely lunch down here on the boat. It was red hot and we had some drinks and some lunch, I had a lovely salad and they went out of their way to cater for our 2 year old. There was a basket of toys for the little ones too. There are some nice looking cakes, but we didn't get that far. There was a wide selection of San pelligrinos too.

We sat in the boat, watched the river and the boats go by, they waved as they went past. It was a really pleasant aspect of Maidstone. I have often driven past the river, and not thought it looked nice, but it really was from down there.

There are tables outside, and you don't have to get on the boat to order or have your...
