Mughal Dynasty — Restaurant in Maidstone

I had the worst experience ever today, the food was so bad I would rather not eat than go there again. It was oily, tasteless and full of food colouring. I saw so many good reviews and am baffled, but most importantly being an Indian and having eaten Indian food all my life, this restaurant made me feel ashamed of the way they represented my culture. More than disappointed, and will warn everyone I knows to not go there, especially Indians because you will hate it there. Sorry but not sorry, I never write reviews and this experience compelled me to do so!!! The pappaddam tasted horrific and the oil used was either burnt or reused for cooking a million bazillion times. The chicken was full of food colouring and tasted like rubber with oil. I request the owners to look into this and do something asap, people deserve better. Indian food is so delicious and heartwarming, but Mughal Dynasty has been the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Also, the plates were not clean and had oil on them, which disgusted me. And the portions are very small compared to the price (I am SO glad). The lemonade was water and some soda with very little flavoured lemon, ugh. Very disappointed I’ve had to leave a bad review as I was really looking forward to eating here! Read loads of great reviews also seen YouTube videos on this place and consider myself to be an experienced curry lover. Done my research before I booked a table for me and the wife, reviews and photos of the food all seem amazing so not sure if they was having a bad night on our visit, 1st let down for me was the draught lager (Stella) is 100% watered down, another field I consider myself to be an expert in. Food presentation was nothing like the pictures I can see on line, our dishes had no nice big fresh tomatoes and cucumbers just tiny side salad also missing fresh coriander sprinkles and one of my dishes came with a complementary hair from one of the chefs, now this happens and I’m not being petty but this hair was clearly visible on the side of the dish, Food was ok nothing special and nothing you can’t get from every other Indian restaurant. NYE. Rang and asked how long for a collection. Was told 30 mins. Placed order and went to collect. Knew as NYE may go over that time as our local Indian takeaway the Al Madina had said a 3 hour wait, that is why we rang the Mughal. Had to wait over 1 and half hours for food as did another 30 plus people. They were still telling customers who were ringing though that it would only take 30 minutes for collection. Total lies. Once got the food home, most was inedible, either undercooked chicken, undercooked rice and over cooked Bombay aloo. Total waste of money. And could have actually gotten severe food poisoning if the chicken had been eaten. Never will go here again. Never usually leave negative reviews but felt I had to as at a time when not a lot of money about and decide on a treat and it was ruined . Would also rather the truth.
