Canterbury Bell by Marston's Inns — Hotel in Thanet

We had a very enjoyable and stress free time over the few days that we stayed, we wanted to be able to leave early in the morning and there was a way for us to do that.

When booking with the hotel they supplied a 20% discount on the food and the food we had in the restaurant was absolutely lovely.

The room was clean and tidy, with plenty of space to store our clothing and toiletries.

There was a lot of plug space and USB points to charge our phones and things. I had bought my own hair dryer and iron, but there was a hair dryer in the room and we could ask for an iron and ironing board if we needed it.

If there was anything I think that could be improved on, it would be more tea, coffee and sugar in the room. And a way to connect our laptop to the TV, we went out and bought a HDMI lead as it looked like this would work, but it didn't.

I absolutely loved our stay. The staff were so keen to assist and always ensuring we have everything we need. Our room was spacious and clean, however I did not care for the showerhead being attached to the wall and unable to move it. Anything extra we might needed we could just ask. As for the pub, the Canterbury Bell, we fell in love with it. The atmosphere, the friendliness ,service and the food all 10 out of 10. We enjoyed dinner and drinks to the fullest. Locatios is also key if you want to visit the surrounding areas. Buses are located opposite the inn and run every 8 minutes. And the other great thing about the location is that is placed opposite a massive shopping area. Literally, every shop I can imagine was there. Hotel room was fairly cool on arrival , ensuite had no heating system at all, only way to warm ensuite was to leave door wide open with the slow fan heater system on full. Room description states soundproofing, but it was very obvious straight away there was a lot of road noise coming into room via the window, on inspection I could easily see daylight coming in around the window seals, and feel draught. I went to reception to complain about the road noise and requested a different room, but told hotel totally full , which was a lie as a quick search later revealed many rooms available.
