Arrived here for a quick bite to eat, sold out of sausage rolls, we're rold to wait 15 minutes if we wanted one. Curious that the leading seller is so quickly out of stock and not properly planned to be replenished? Back section was blocked off (at 1:30PM) during lunch service was even more puzzling so the choice was to sit on the tiny tables by the door whilst it was raining and windy outside and the door always open. Or alternatively we could then sit on unclean, uncleared tables outside which had a mountain of rubbish swirling about on the ground. Then we see customers appearing from the back section having to navigate the blockages that the lady with red hair moodily replaced each time a customer wanted to leave. How dare they. An elderly couple almost fell over trying to navigate this blockage, no concerns voiced by staff members when this happened. Napkins weren't provided so I asked at the till, I was told to wait a moment. So I did. Then I waited. And waited. All whilst the same lady wkth red hair did everything except help me with a napkin. I once again asked and was greeted with a rude response that I'll have to wait. Two minutes standing there waiting for a napkin to mop myself up after the cold food I received was getting further cold on the table. The gentleman serving clearly noticed I was getting a bit irate and asked what I wanted and immediately gave me napkins. Turned out they were right next to the rude lady. Very poor customer service for...
Read moreThe biggest problem in this place is probably the staff, or more precisely a specific member of staff. We ordered via the gregs app for collection and the collection point is directly infront of the door (which they leave open) that leads to where the staff are preparing the orders. When the order was ready, she was extremely moody and hostile. She had a face of death. I thought maybe it was because we were standing byt his door (as instructed by them!) and just thought nothing of it. Some time has gone by (weeks) and we went back but this was just a normal walk in and see whats on the shelf. Whilst queuing I realised it was the same moody lady from before. So I watched how she interacts with people to see if it's jsut me or does she treat everyone like a piece of %*(!£. Turns out....she does. So it has nothing to do with what we did or didn't do...she was just horrible to everyone for no reason. I asked her for something that their own app was telling me was in stock and available to place an order for collection but was not shown on the shelves. I've never seen someone try so hard and fail to come up with a reasonable excuse for why they can't be bothered to go in the back and get it than this lady. I next time will be just placing the order on their app and I'm half tempted to make a complaint but also really can't be bothered. So here we are.... if you're faced with a horrible lady at the counter, you've probably met the lady...
Read moreI was in today with my partner and my baby. Their back seating area was closed but the front few tables were open. My partner sat down in the open front section of the cafe. I then purchased our food and was told by a young man ‘our seating area is closed so this will be a takeaway’ I said ‘I’m going to sit on this table at the front as I need to breastfeed my son, is that okay?’ The man behind the counter was a trainee and he went to ask someone else. He then came another staff member came out from out the back and said ‘I’m really sorry, breastfeeding isn’t allowed in here, you’ll have to use the public toilets or the benches outside’. As it was busy and there was a queue I just left it and sat down. I asked another member of staff a little later after I’d finished my food whether I could breastfeed my son and she said ‘sorry, breastfeed isn’t allowed in here, you’ll have to use public toilets or outside seating area’. I said I was not feeding my son in the toilet and asked who made that rule. She said ‘it’s just policy and there’s nothing I can do’. I then had to walk my son to another restaurant in Westwood cross...
