Budget Inn Alcoa — Hotel in Alcoa

Needs zero stars!!! I am updating my post from a few months ago because I really hope people are reading the reviews as they are spot on and this place needs to be closed down. I honestly think the only reason they are still open is from people paying for multiple nights and not refunding anything. I paid for 4 nights when I did my reservation (my mistake for not reading reviews, will not happen again) I my family made a whole 15min because of how nasty the rooms are and went somewhere else and never got a dime back to my card for any of the nights I paid for. I have stayed in alot of hotels for my work in various states and this hotel is by far the absolute nastiest worst one I have ever been to. Please read the reviews on this place and go somewhere else as there are cheaper, and way nicer places to stay. I seriously couldn't get my kids out both rooms fast enough.

This place is so nasty! We got put into a 2 bed room and there were no sheets on the beds just nasty stained mattresses. They had thrown 2 pillows on one bed and one comforter. The TV didn't even turn on. There was peeling paint everywhere. They do not have microwaves or mini fridges like their site says. There were bugs all over the bathroom. Went up to the front desk and the guy that was there was just completely rude and didnt care said it was a mistake. So I had to go into a room with one bed. That room was just as nasty. Apparently a flat sheet works instead of a fitted sheet. Again no microwave or fridge. Bathroom had peeling paint and bugs everywhere. I left and went somewhere else I felt like if I stayed there I would need a penicillin shot for fear of catching something. This place needs to be condemned it's that bad. I just wanted to post my own review here. This was actually a pretty decent experience. After reading all these other reviews, I was scared of what to find here. Hotwire booked me a hotel and this was it.

I came to the front, there was an Indian man who gave me my card with a smile. There were some poor people, some unfortunates, etc. around the area but also some decent folks too.

The room itself smelled a little bit like mold when I first got in for the first 5 minutes. I'm breathing in right now and I don't smell anything. The TV had all the cable channels. The bathroom looks alright. Everything was vacuumed, the beds were made nicely, and the bedding was very clean.

The A/C works, and I haven't found a single bug.

Like honestly, I'm having a good night here, sitting in my bed, messing with my laptop. I've got my own hotspot though. I don't think the WiFi reaches here, but could also be wrong.

Anyway, all in all I've had a good experience here. It's a Friday night, no cops, nothing. Could hear the people talking next door a little bit. Even if they got loud, it'd be nothing the A/C and some earplugs couldn't fix.

Oh yeah, planes do fly overhead though. It's right next to the airport, where they land. But it's not like... super terrible.

Two nights in I had an altercation with the maid. She claimed that she smelled smoke coming out my room. I was standing in the doorway to block her from entering with a cigarette in my hand. We requested her supervisor come sniff the room, as well as management on staff none would. The following day it was some form of narcotics. I requested again for them to come sniff the air and they refused and apologized for the maid. Thought it was over till check out they charged me claiming room smelled of smoke. No it didn't. I had maintenance walk through the night before. I bought my own sheets and bed ware and placed it on top of their made beds, I swept, I dusted, I had to bleach the bathroom before use, I bought air freshener with me it's carpet fresh arm and hammer I used in the entire week stay because it smelled like burning chemicals constantly and the place was gross. After incident I was told maid could speak English and witnessed her talking English to everyone else. This is a scam to keep more money. Especially if you booked online.
