USA Inn — Hotel in Alcoa

Horrible place! Do NOT stay here! Owners are rude and the things in the room are broken and/or do not work! First, I booked a smoking room with a queen bed and was put in a non-smoking, double bed room. They only give you one key card for the room despite how many people are in your room, and were told that we had to return that key at check out or we wouldn’t get our deposit back. And fyi, check out is at 10am, not 11am like every other hotel. The room was next to someone with a large dog who barked/whined CONSTANTLY! The fridge inside the room was leaking large puddles of water into the floor in which the owner cleaned up and covered with a towel and told me to keep it there to catch the water. The TV inside the room was so scratched up and messed up that you could barely even see anything on it. When he came to “fix” the fridge the dog next door was barking its head off and when I said something about he, he completely ignored and dismissed me other than asking “Is that it?” on his way out the door. I asked him if he could just move us rooms and he said no that all he could do was cancel our reservation. About an hour later he sent a “handy man” to replace the TV, which ended up taking over 2 hours. First he didn’t bring the correct tool to remove it from the wardrobe, when he finally returned, it wasn’t the right size, so I had to wait for him to come back again with the right tools to fix it. He ended up having to bring another man with him, and together they finally got the broken one out and the new one set up. The dog next door woke me up at 6am on a Saturday morning. The day of our departure we were packing our stuff up to leave, it was around 9:20-9:30am (check out is at 10:00) and all of a sudden we heard the door handle moving and looked up and the cleaning lady just opened up our door to barge in without even knocking and announcing herself first. It would’ve been different if we were still in the room after check out time, but it was still 30-40 minutes until then. I will never stay there again, and I would advise anyone else...

We reserved 2 rooms online from out of state over a week before we arrived. The price was very cheap. I was traveling with a few other people. We were looking for somewhere that was decent that we could afford. I will say that the man at the check in desk was kind to me when I arrived and checked in. When we arrived, we did not feel that it was very safe where we had to walk to get to our room. When we got into our room, we found stains on the curtains and bedspread, holes in the bedspread, paint peeling off the walls, no phone, stains in the toilet and tub. One of the children in our group said he saw roaches in the room they were in. My friend and I stayed on the phone for probably over an hour trying to find another room that was local and that we could afford that was both safe and clean. Unfortunately, there was a big game in the area so the rooms were very limited and the ones available were priced ridiculously high. Also, it was after 9 in the evening by this time. We thought we would not have a lot of choice but to stay here, even though one of the children was crying because he didn’t want to stay here. The lady and children went back to their room, pulled back the bedspread and saw on the sheets what appeared to be a large urine stained area on the sheets. We made the decision at that time to leave. I didn’t know if we would be able to get a refund or not. When we went to the front desk, the lady informed me that what I had signed at check in stated to check out the room and inform of any issues within 10 mins. I should have taken the time to read the fine print, this was my fault. We still left even knowing we would not receive a refund. The lady did offer to have housekeeping come to change the sheets. I would not recommend this hotel...

If I could leave a review with no stars I would, this is beyond the definition of roach motel. The price is great, and I had traveled into town to visit family recently and had to stay at a budget friendly hotel as family had no room with others already having traveled and were staying with family. The front desk attendant was extremely rude which is an understatement, wouldn’t hire her to even work as a cashier at McDonald’s, the room was filthy and when asked to change to a different room, I was told that because I have a service animal and there were no more “animal” rooms available that just wasn’t possible, which mind you is a violation of federal ADA Law, I was told that if I didn’t like my accommodations she could just cancel my stay with no refund because it is last minute and that I could go elsewhere. I had no choice but to stay, but stopped by other local hotels that were more pricey but budget friendly to research and I will be staying somewhere else next time. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND DON’T CARE ABOUT BREAKING FEDERAL LAW!! I have reported them to the state and will be continuing to Pursue legal action because of how I was treated. This is the absolute worse experience I have ever had in my 25+ years of traveling and staying at hotels/budget friendly inns. Definitely STAY AWAY from this place, unless you want to stay somewhere that states to give you a clean room but yet has dead cockroaches in the bathtub when you check in and refuses to do...
