Was taking wife to airport to catch flight home because her father had passed away, but walked out before served. Cocky bully like attitude from waitress wearing. Blue top. Cocky smart attitude. Been eating at waffle houses for 40 plus’s years and never had an experience like this. Looked like the other worker were afraid to say anything. When we pulled in at 6:30 am Wednesday morning she was smoking in front of the restaurant not far from front entrance and I smiled and made joke about how bad my parking was and she had attitude all over her. Arms crossed over her chest puffing away. Nobody greeted us when we went in the place. Had one nice waitress come and ask what we wanted to drink and next thing I knew the waitress that stunk from cigarette smoke too over. Instead of standing there like most waitresses do, she cocked up on one elbow right close to Me while I was sitting in a booth and proceeded to take my order. I rattled off what I been saying when I ordered at every Waffle House I have went into all my restaurant days. She had to correct the way I say everything I ordered with how she wanted to say it it and I have never had anyone ask me if I wanted a double order of hash brown. She said no onions so I can’t give scattered. I say okkay, bla bla. She made a simple order that anyone else has heard over 40 years and made me feel like she had taken control and correct me, until I just got tired of being talked down to among other uneasy feeling. Like I was talking to a hustler behind a building in the hood attitude sting of cigarettes so I finally had enough and walked out and told her she had the worst attitude I had ever encountered and she just laughed like a child out old I from of the other customers She does not need to be at that job. I am now at another Waffle House getting a great service. The Waffle House in Alcoa Tn close to the airport is where we had cocky waitress not the one we ate at later. Just wanted to clear that up Maybe her eyelash extensions was causing her attitude problems but it was the worst waitress I have ever encountered being I am 70 year old veteran and I have eaten in restaurants from all over the world. After thinking back on it and reading others reviews on this particular Waffle House it may be because my wife is a from the Philippines and I am a regular white man from Tennessee. Now I believe it was...
Read moreI visited this Waffle House today around 4 pm. 9/8/25. There were two other people eating there. I walked in and sat myself. The only employee I saw was standing there, facing the outside windows and he did not acknowledge me in the least when I walked in and it took him around 5 minutes to even realize I was sitting at a table. He came over and took my order. He cooked and brought me my order fast but forgot the chili on my hashbrowns. Every single Waffle House ALWAYS forgets the chili. I've learned to be ok with that over my lifetime. I just tell them and all is right in the world. I got my chili and took two bites and I knew it was super wrong chili! It was completely soured and cold. I told the guy and he was apologetic and told me he had a "fresh one on the griddle heating up". He made me another hashbrown with chili but by then my cheeseburger was cold and gross. At that point I was so disgusted by the entire situation and I couldn't enjoy my fresh hashbrowns because I had bad meat taste in my mouth. I left my plate with two thirds of my cold gross cheeseburger and only a few bites gone of my hashbrowns on the plates. I explained that to the guy and he didn't offer any resolution what so ever. I paid for my whole meal, that could've potentially made me sick, that I didn't eat and still tipped him 4 dollars for a cheeseburger and hashbrowns that wasn't edible. I typically tip 10 if it's me by myself and 20 if it's me and my fella. You can ask the amazing 411 crew to verify that. There was VERY loud machinery right behind the door of the dining area. It sounded like saws. I was trying to figure out what they could possibly be doing with that type of machinery inside a Waffle House. It wasn't even 3 am and I wasn't drunk. Lol! I will never go back to this Waffle House. It has never been the same since George left. I'll make a point to go to my 411...
Read moreThey have good food. The service was terrible when I went on 6/30/24. My guest and I sat at a booth. Our waitress took our drink order. However, she seemed annoyed that I wasn't ready to order she came back a few minutes later to take my order she was in a hurry, and my guest and I both felt like we were being hurried to eat. We were talking and catching up, and approximately 50 minutes after we sat down, we were asked to leave because we had been there too long! We have never been asked to leave a restaurant for a reason, let alone, for taking too long in a booth. I had already planned on leaving a $20 tip, and my guest was going to leave a $20 tip because we knew we would be talking for a while. So the waitress lost out on at least a $40 tip because she told us to leave. There were people that had been sitting in the restaurant when we got there that left way after we did ( we were sitting in the parking lot talking) and saw them leave. If the Waffle House on Alcoa hwy wants to ask people to leave after giving them $40 for their meal, then they don't need any of our business, and we will not be back to...
