Survival Guide for the Super 8 @ Allentown, PA What to pack: • Bath towels. What? You thought the room came with towels?! LOL. • Toilet paper. Apparently, it’s still being hoarded at Walmart. • Phone cord. Yes, a phone is provided. No, it doesn’t have a cord to plug into the outlet. However, you can pretend to call the front desk on the phone for your towels and toilet paper. • Spray paint. It helps with that peeling paint in the microwave. Be sure it’s heat resistant. • Black electrical tape. To cover up the blinking light on the smoke detector above your bed. Unless the blinking helps you fall asleep. • Coat hangers. Hey, you got a closet. What more did you expect? • Tongs. It helps with pulling the human hair out of the drains, instead of using your fingers. • T.V. program guide. To help with reprogramming the t.v. after every time it’s turned off. What you thought it had memory chips in it? • Continental breakfast. Yes, there’s a continental breakfast, but you must provide it. So, pack it tightly in your luggage and don’t forget the creamer and those fresh bagels with cream cheese. • Wheelchair ramp. For those who need wheelchair access, don’t forget to load an extra wheelchair ramp in your car for those back entrances. * Earplugs. For those 2AM fire alarms that go off randomly. I think it’s part of an exercise program to get guest up and moving. I opted to stay in my room and take a pass on it. Bonus tip: • Avoid reserving online. It'll save time, because they won’t have the room you reserved anyway. Note: I didn’t include a photo of the coffee maker with the usual accoutrements, because there wasn’t any. That is, there were no accoutrements, or coffee maker. You might want to pack one or bring a thermos. ;-) Response: No, I wouldn't consider trying you again Super 8. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

Wyndham is a trash company expecting me to pay for a night at a hotel that was an absolute *%^# show from the moment of arrival. Vagrants camping outside the door of the ground level outside entrance room that we were assigned. There were ashes on the carpet, dust on the furniture, cigarette burns on the tub, feces on the wall, trash around the property, bullet proof glass at the check in counter, and crack heads walking the halls. If safety is Wyndham’s number one priority, the Super 8 Allentown would not be a part of the portfolio. I have sent pictures previously of the conditions of the room. Yet, because the rate was non-cancellable, I am still holding the bag for $93.49. This is seriously damaging to the Wyndham reputation. I will not be staying at another Wyndham property or using my Wyndham Visa. My remaining points can just sit there. The customer service rep offered me 3000 points to offset the charge of $93.49. A paltry sum of points that won’t cover a single night's stay anywhere in the Wyndham portfolio. I left this property and stayed at Marriott, where they know how to treat guests. For the remainder of this trip, I will stay at various Marriot and Hilton properties because of this experience. My upcoming travels next month are booked at Marriott properties.

I BEG YOU TO NOT STAY IN THIS PLACE!!! I booked two rooms for 7 nights at this location for my crew through Hotel Engine on Friday July 18, 2025. When we went to check in, the girl at the front desk doesn’t understand English hardly at all and the check in process took almost an hour. When she finally gave us the key to the room, as soon as we walked in we were hit with the worst smell ever then you see this massive, possible blood stain on the box spring and blood on the walls. As soon as we seen that, we went back downstairs and requested a refund. She said she would work with Hotel Engine and give us our refund back so we left and booked a room elsewhere. I called hotel engine on Saturday to check on the refund and they said when they tried calling the hotel to get the refund, as soon as they verified the name on the reservation, the hotel would hang up on them. Here it is Monday and Hotel Engine gave me an update that I will only be refunded for 3 nights!!! These people are a disgrace and should be investigated!! This hotel is a crack hotel and any positive reviews are probably from them. Check the pictures out. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP AND THESE PATHETIC PEOPLE!!!!

Stayed here for one night while visiting Dorney. We only stayed the first night because we checked in late and it was too late to find another place. We promptly changed hotels in the morning.

Let me start this review with the only postive. The front desk staff, Shakeith and Lee were very friendly and apologetic. They offered wonderful service. A full refund was issued to me.

Now for the bad. They collected the full payment at check in. I proceeded to my room with my wife and two young children. The area seemed seedy and the exterior and common areas of the hotel were dingy and in disrepair. There was no real lobby, just a window with glass that could be closed and locked. The exterior doors to the area our room was in required key card entry but would not fully close to engage the lock. I also met a few questionable characters who disclosed that they live at the hotel.

When we arrived at our room we found that the bathroom had not been cleaned. There was urine on the rim and base of the toilet, and hair and debris on the floor and in the shower. The bathroom floor was filthy. I reported this to the front desk and she stated that maintenance had left for the day and offered me another room. I proceeded to look at two more rooms and found both to be less desirable than the one we were in. I requested cleaner and gloves and proceeded to sanitize the bathroom myself after Shakeith offered to refund me my first night's stay.

The remainder of the room was also dirty. The carpet was stained, the sink area outside the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, the air conditioner was disgusting, and everything was dusty.

The bedding had not been changed on one of the beds and was dirty with grit, hair, and pieces of tissue. It had been made, we discovered the filth when turning it down for our children. I reported this to the front desk and they didn't have enough spare linens to give me to change the sheets. Shakeith had left by then, so Lee offered me a new room, to which I explained what had happened earlier. We then proceeded to look for clean sheets on the beds in other rooms. We finally found a set of clean sheets on a bed in the third room we tried. Those sheets were stained but had been laundered so we took then from the bed and my wife and I put them on the bed in our room.

Later that night I went to our car, and found two police officers in the lot. They proceeded to enter the hallway our room was located in. I don't know the reason, but I found it disconcerting.

The air conditioner was very noisy and kept cycling on and off, and it sounded like a herd of elephants was above us until 3 am.

In the morning, my wife had discovered a welt on her foot. She had obviously been bitten by something.

I went to the front desk and checked out at that time. Lee kindly apologized and refunded me for the remainder of my reservation.

I will attach photos to this review. Please do not stay here. I can't believe the number of positive reviews. Don't trust...

I am like you, I came to the reviews to check out what I was getting into. This hotel was booked for us as part of a group, so we basically did not make this decision. When I expressed my concerns to the person who did the booking, he called the manager who assured him this hotel was up to standards and those reviews were people who "were just mad" and the reviews were old.

We checked in on Friday, May 16, 2025. Check in was smooth. There were some people hanging out in the parking lot but not in a threatening way. The area is right off of a main street so it is a little busy. I left all of my things in the car while I checked in so I could check out the room. The smell was a little musty. You can tell this hotel allows smoking in some of the rooms. The door did shut and lock, although we had to lift up and get it to latch. There was visible mold above the shower. I pulled all the sheets and comforter up, even the mattress. No roaches or bed bugs were noted. Sheets were clean, but the bottom sheet was stained. We decided to stay since there were no bugs.

The floors were dirty. After a shower, our feet had stuff on them from walking from the shower to the bed. The bathroom door did not close. We used a towel to prop it shut. Water pressure and temperature in the shower were great, no issues with that at all. I was actually impressed. They only had 2 towels in the bathroom, and they were really thin. They also had 1 washcloth and 1 hand towel.

Saturday morning there was no breakfast. Nothing. There was a pitcher of coffee but it was just water. The front desk was notified. We ended up having to go get coffee from Dunkin. We left for the day around 10:30 am and returned around 9:30pm from our busy day, and housekeeping did not come. I went to the front desk for some towels and they denied me, saying we had to wait until housekeeping comes in the morning. I told them we were skipped this morning and needed to shower, so they gave me 1 towel and said "make sure you bring back the dirty towel for more". I was not going to argue so I took the towel and went to my room.

The next morning (Sunday) I went to the front desk around 8:30am and asked them for another towel so my husband could shower. I even brought my other 2 dirty ones. They said they could not give me any more until housekeeping comes in around 10. I told them we were leaving and he did not get a shower last night because of this. They did not give me one. My husband used mine from the night before (I hung it up after my shower in case of this issue). There were 2 muffins out and no coffee this morning.

When we checked out around 10, I just left the key and left. I didn't talk to anyone, it was the same young girl all weekend who gave us issues. The staff is not friendly at all. I did get my deposit back thankfully. I will never stay...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! READ REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING!!!!!

When I say this is the most horrible hotel that I have ever stayed at in my entire life. That is not an exaggeration.

Where do I begin? Let's start with the customer service. The nightclerk needs to be re-educated. On customer service and how to handle people. The lack of knowledge and the disrespect is what caused me to give them a 1 star for service. After arguing with me for 5 minutes about whether I had paid the deposit or not I had to grab my phone out of the car, bring it back in and threw it at the clerk to show him I paid. In which case he still wanted to argue with me and tell me that they do not prepay the deposit. At this point I was so angry that I started screaming and cussing at him until he finally looked at the computer system and saw that I paid it before it reached the hotel. Then he wanted to tell me to calm down. After that? Good luck!!! Then he checked me into a room that had someone in it. I had to go back to the desk and get another room. I rented a king bed room i got a double bed room instead. I asked for a refund on the room and was advised the double room was more expensive. I threw my hands in the air and took the key. Let's move on to the room! I gave the room a 1 because when I walk in there was a nasty smell to the room. My man had to bring his deodorizer just to make the room smell better. The blanket on the one bed had cig burns in it. The carpet had cig burns in it. The other blanket on the other bed looked dirty and looked like it hadn't been washed in months. There was what looked like a blood spatter on the wall behind the t.v. there was no remote for the t.v. there was something spilled on the top of the dresser. It looked like it had been there for days. The walls were dirty and nasty. They need to be washed down and repainted. There was no wash cloths in the room for me to take a shower. There was no bath mat to lay on the floor. I almost slipped coming out of the shower. The tiles were loose and broken. There were roaches crawling on the walls. It was very nasty. Let's move on to the location. This hotel is on a very busy street and is hard to get into. There is very little parking. The outside was dirty. The elevator was dirty. Everything was dirty.

I'll put it to you this way. I only stayed one night and left the next evening after talking to the manager in which point he acted like he could care less about anything I had to say or how I felt about the overall stay. I will be contacting my bank about this...
