Short version review: My burritos were good. My frozen drinks were melted. The service, although incredibly slow, was friendly when we finally reached the window, despite being purposely ignored at the speaker.
Long version review for Taco Bell management: Service was slow. Like painfully slow. The car ahead of us sat at the speaker for a few minutes before placing their order. When I realized they were ordering quite a bit, I decided to leave. But as soon as I started to back up, a truck pulled in behind me, so I couldn't leave. I tried to motion to the guy that I wanted out of the line, but then a car pulled in behind him 🤦. So when it was my turn, I pulled up to the speaker and a female said, "Hi, how are you today?". I answered, "I'm fine, thanks. How are you?", but she didn't respond. I figured she was busy with the car currently at the window. So I wait. And wait. And I'm waiting some more, being very patient. And then I'm still patiently waiting, but my mom is beginning to grow impatient. Finally, my mom leans in front of me (toward the speaker) and says, "Are you guys ok in there?". Then the female says, "Oh, are you ready to order?". At that point I'm thinking, "Ugh, YES! I knew what I wanted before I even got here!"...but I didn't say that, of course, because I'm not a jerk. I get the same thing every time though, so yes, I was more than ready to order, lol. Anyway, I placed my simple order and pulled ahead. But I didn't move very far, because there was still 3 cars ahead of us. So we waited again even longer.
The drive-thru wait took so long, our frozen drinks were significantly melted. It was all liquid at the bottom 1/3 of the cups and they were both about 2" underfilled due to the melting. I'm not going to judge too harshly though, because there were 3 cars in front of us and the one right before us had a fairly large order (they should've come inside if they were going to order so much. I personally think it's really rude placing larger orders in drive-thru.) It wasn't a massive order, but enough to slow things down even more.
My burritos were good and the service, although very slow, was friendly when we finally reached the window.
On a side note: I hate the fact that this drive-thru location traps you in. As a rule, I always go inside to avoid this type of drive-thru. So if I visit this store again, I'll be going inside to order. At least they could give me my drink right away and I could wait inside without wasting my overpriced gas while I burn to a crisp in the hot sun breathing in exhaust fumes. It's just a personal preference, but I don't feel safe when drive-thru's (or any type of line) has you and your vehicle trapped. This location has a fence up along most of the line. God forbid there's a fire, explosion or shooting situation–you can't drive away or even run to safety. Even something simple like someone's car breaking down in line can cause you to be stuck for a while. Or if you go there for 1 specific item, but they're sold out, you still need to wait in a long line just to leave with nothing. And I surely don't want to get stuck behind the crazy person who's forced to wait 20 minutes for nothing.
Anyway, TB management, If you've read my entire review this far, just know that I've now only wasted a fraction of the time writing this in comparison to how long I was stuck in your inescapable drive-thru. Just remember, no matter how tasty your food might be, if the service sucks, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. If you don't have enough workers to fill shifts, the performance of those shifts will greatly suffer. It was pretty obvious there was not enough staff to handle the volume at the time. I'll give your store another try. I realize I may have visited at a bad time. Things don't run smoothly all the time. Maybe you scheduled enough help, but someone called out that day. I understand things happen sometimes. If the next time I visit goes better, I'll change my review and increase my rating. But if it's just as slow or worse, I'll definitely not bother ever...

I am here to say that my wife and I normally order from another location and they kept failing us and letting us down with incorrect food, rude customer service and overall just negative experiences.
BUT THERE IS HOPE!
Taco Bell at the airport road location in Allentown PA is a SLAM DUNK!!!! I am vegetarian and have many customizations that I need to fit that diet while my wife and kids eat anything and everything on the menu. This can lead to mislabeled packaged food items, incorrect orders, and missing food. NOPE not at Airport road location they nail it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The staff is splendid (we have eaten inside and done drive thru before), the food is always right, the extra cheese or extra this or that is always right and in plenty, and man is everything always good and never have to worry.
This store is a longer delivery for us yet which can lead to not as hot food (not the stores fault, it is what it is with grubhub), but we WILL ALWAYS order from this location because we know everything will be correct and right everytime.
Everyone is quicker to complain than to compliment, but this team especially tonight with Chanessa and her team who picked up the phone to take the compliment too (she was an absolute sweetheart) deserve all the praise and more.
10/10 5 stars Best of the best Should be what every taco bell strives to be
Thank you for taking the time reading this, please pass this to the team so they can be recognized for all the good they do, food leads to the heart and mine is full now like my belly from the amazing food!
Thank Chanessa and team for making our night great as always when we order and thank you Airport Road location for always be amazing and...
