Those were four of the most horrible nights/days I have ever had to endure at a hotel. We were there to visit a very sick relative. Our room key cards NEVER worked, every evening upon our return from visiting our sick relative I had to have them reprogrammed. Twice someone tried to enter our room. The first time they kept jiggling the door, I yelled at them and they left. The second time they were actually able to open the door, but I had the door chain on. The person apologized and said he had the wrong room, except his key opened our door and our keys never did. Go figure. I told the desk clerk, who was the least bit interested. No working hair dryer. Pathetic excuse for pillows, the only thing lacking in the pillowcases were the pillows. Extremely old towels, television, beds, furniture. No working television remote. Light fixtures not working, only had three working lights, some just lacking bulbs. Room was not cleaned on days three and four. Sheets were not changed on days three and four. No ice bucket or cups. Continental breakfast was a farce. Your hotel was the closest to our sick relative in Chaparral, NM. Just because we didn't have much of a chose doesn't mean we should expect to be treated badly. It was so disheartening to return to our room in the evenings after emotional visits to our relative, especially knowing what we were going to return to. Your desk clerk REFUSED to give us our receipt when we went to check out. We argued back and forth about our receipt. He told us to get it from the place we made our reservation because he couldn't print one. We couldn't continue to argue it was 4:30 am, we still had a six hour drive ahead of us. Upon our return home I called the reservation company about our receipt who informed me that the hotel was suppose to give it to me. Unbelievable! I would rate your hotel with negative stars, but in all fairness your heater did work. What I am amazed at is knowing about all the problems we were having and the reason for our visit, not once did your staff try to correct anything. Maybe they just didn't have anything to use to correct it with. I read some of the comments about your hotel and the complaints all are the same. Some of the bad comments were current and some from several months ago and you've done nothing to correct them. Why won't you update your amenities and rooms? Because your clerk REFUSED to give us our receipt I have filed a complaint with your corporate headquarters. I want our receipt and a partial refund should be credited to my uncle's credit card. Do the right thing, don't you care about your guests and...
Read moreMarquee shows this to be the “ANTHONY INN”, and it is at the end of the road (Park Lane)—only desert beyond. But it was well-worth me cycling here; I was too enervated to continue on another 30miles/48 kms to my home in Eastside El PasoTX. |Once into my large room (104) and my eBikeKit-assisted CruzBike recharging, I Gimpwalked to nearby Dennys (conveniently accessed via a stairwell) for a “to go” Cobb Salad”. This is the only way I overnight when biketouring—eat a meal in bed, watching an excellent flat-screen TV (remote operation was easy!) and soon to sleep (after brushing/flossing)!|Anyway, I had wonderful ice from the superior ice machine in the lobby area, some of which I stored in the frozen section of the mini fridge. Had I needed it, the microwave is very clean & ready to use. The mattress is excellent, nice and mostly very firm. The a/c/heat unit works extremely well. All lights are extremely adequate but be forewarned that the switch at the front door is not only for the overhead light, it also controls the top half of the 110-outlet beside the a/c/heat unit; the bottom half is independent. Behind the bedside table between the beds is another functional 110-outlet (for my cellphone recharge), but the cover plate is missing. There is a hair blower in the sink area, but no in-room coffee maker. |I was very pleased to be able to reserve here so late in the day (15:00) via my cellphone/snaptravel; I got the last room available on the ground level—no way was I going to attempt moving my eBike up any stairs! Front desk was very accommodating to me, and the brekkie from (06:00-09:00) will be perfect for me as I complete the last leg of my “Third Shakedown Cycle” by re-entering the well-populated international community of El PasoTX-USA! |I’m extremely satisfied with this exceptionally fine motel, and it certainly has my coveted “¡Wheel...
Read moreMy fiancé grew up in Anthony and we travel here a lot. We only gave 2 options for hotels in town and have stayed at both a few times. This time we were staying due to a family death, and choice America's Best for economical reasons, even though our previous experiences have been less than desirable. The TV's are from the 90's, and the doors always seem either a little too easy or difficult to open. There are small minor repairs that need to be done, and yet aren't. For example this time the rim in the bathtub was broken and sitting on the ledge in the shower. But what really gets me going is that everytime our Do Not Disturb sign winds up on the outside of the door. So we NEVER get our room cleaned and only get fresh towels when we ask at the front desk. I'm not sure who places the sign on our door, but I would like you to know that I tip very well and your housekeepers are missing out on EASY money every day they don't come in to my room. My fiancé and I are very respectful and place all of our trash together, leave our towels in the bath tub for easy pick up, and remove the sheets when we would like them to be changed. Now not only have your housekeepers lost out on tips, but you have lost out on LONGTIME returning customers. From now on we will be staying at Best Western, even though the rooms are much more expensive, we are always treated like paying guests, not some roach they can't wait...
