We bought our bed a year ago end of December 2022 so we’re still covered under “full” warranty, whatever the fine print says. We started to see and feel a dip in the bed on my side and it hasn’t even been a year. I called the store here in Apple Valley where I bought it and this guy named Jay which is actually the super nice guy that sold it to us I think, turned into a total jerk and said that it wasn’t defective that it’s “conforming to my body”. He kept saying that it couldn’t be a defect. Not sure if this has to do with the type of bed I have? (Laughing out loud here…) he gave me a 800 number to call very unpleasantly. I also called the rep and she was very nice and said since I was in the one year full warranty I could replace the foam top. She had me check the foam topper and 80% of the bed is foam! I didn’t know that. So I asked since this happened within a year if they could replace it with a more durable foam or a different bed and I could pay the cost. She simply said “no. We cannot. Each bed is designed with a specific foam….”so in a year when this cheap or defective type of foam dips again…I’m out of luck. I have to pay for whatever the cost will be every time this happens. Just to note, a sales rep I now work with who sold beds said that they refused to sell sleep numbers because of their shady warranty and glorified air mattress front. I didn’t want to believe her at first but now I am experiencing it… I should’ve stuck with my temperpedic. That lasted me 7 out of the 10 yrs without a dip….i weigh 200lbs btw. The model is a sleep number ILE I believe. Hope this helps you decide on what you’re going to invest in for many years...

I can’t recommend Sleep Number after our experience with them. We bought a high-end bed in 2021, hoping to make the most of their "custom comfort" promises—I'm a soft sleeper, my husband prefers firm, so the dual settings initially seemed perfect.
Fast forward three years, and our bed now deflates overnight. By 2 a.m., it’s almost completely flat, so we're constantly waking up to re-inflate the bed through the app. I understand that products can have issues, but what has led to my review is how Sleep Number has handled this.
Getting help is nearly impossible. Each time I tried to reach customer service, it took 3-4 hours. They offer a callback system, but the call can come anytime within a 4-hour window, so I had to work from home multiple days just to troubleshoot with them. After all this, they identified that our air chambers had malfunctioned, which you’d think would be a simple warranty fix. But no—they’re charging me hundreds for parts, and I’m expected to install them myself once they arrive. Don't worry, they sent me a help center article to walk me through it. What a disappointment.
Sleep Number’s support process is a nightmare, and I’ll definitely not be purchasing...

In November of 2024 I injured my T12 vertebrae in a backwards fall into a deep tub when a bathmat slipped. I could feel my spine compress and have actually lost a half-inch in height. Walking is now fine but I could not get comfortable in bed so sleep became a serious problem.
In April of 2025 my son insisted I try a Sleep Number bed, so I did an in-store test in Apple Valley, MN. The settings go from 0 to 100 and there’s a screen that shows red lit pressure points on your body. When they disappeared I’d found my perfect number.
Valentin (Val) was an excellent salesman. He was articulate and informative without any sales pressure. Before we left I bought a P5 Sleep # Smart Bed, and it’s absolutely changed my life! From day one on I have enjoyed a great night’s sleep.
Val advised me to watch for sales on the company’s website for the next 3 months because I was entitled to a refund on anything on sale that I’d purchased. I did just that and received hundreds of dollars back. Customers Service has been excellent. Val has called each of the 3 months after I received my bed to ensure my satisfaction. A VERY HAPPY...
