Very disappointed, wait staff is exceptionally poor and in need of some serious training. When they made errors and had exceptionally slow service they were completely unapologetic. I have only walked out of a restaurant without ordering one other time in my entire life.

The food looked and smelled amazing and wish we could have ordered some of it. We were seated quickly. Then waited about 5 minutes for water to be served to us without even asking if we wanted something else to drink and our children had to ask for crayons to color on the kids menus. She then hurried off and did not return to our table for another 15 minutes. The only menus we were presented with when we were seated was a drink menu, two kids menus and the specials; since we had never been here before we thought maybe they just had a small menu each day but then we noticed everyone around us were getting items that were not part of the special menu. So at this point (20 minutes from being seated) the waitress came to take our order and we had not yet received menus. Rather than just getting us menus she went to the hostess and stated to her that we never got menus. They finally brought over menus with no apologies whatsoever. So at this point we let the waitress know we were going elsewhere and we got up and walked out without ordering and they still did not apologize.

Would like to try again if they can get some worthwhile wait staff or retrain their...

Food:4 Ordered a few rolls, the bacon wrapped Quail eggs and Beef Udon. Their entree portions are a but smaller IMO.

Service: 2 I think their service could improve in terms of being attentive during their shift. I entered and for a slow night it took another employee to notify the host that I was waiting to be seated. Her back was facing the door and every mindset could be different but I believe the host and staff should be alert and attentive to business walking in. I wanted to order another item and three were standing, socializing in a section. I had to raise my hand to get somebody to look at it. Being ready and attentive. She refilled our water and tea promptly- I just think there are ways to socialize yet be attentive to the few guests in the restaurant. Usually when I enter a Japanese restaurant, I've been greeted at the entrance and at my exit. Maybe Masu isnt like that and perhaps the lack of attentiveness made it feel less of a "valued customer" experience. Consistency in service would help jump this rating a lot.

Has a lot of potential. Cool interior. Entering the parking lot of the plaza can be a tad tricky....

One star because we loved the food. We have been to the Minneapolis and Mall of America locations several times and have loved the experience. So, we were incredibly excited to try Masu in Apple Valley. As always, the food was good. However, service was sub-par at best. During the course of our meal, we were propositioned for information about the business and what we would like to see there (a Halloween party? different desserts? etc.). Would have shrugged it off, but we were made to wait about an hour to pay after we finished eating. We were given no explanation until after the second time we approached our server (who had ignored us this whole time). We only learned that their card reader was down by watching, since the server spoke into the computer and not to us. I left my husband there while I found an ATM, since it was apparent the server was going to continue to run our card until something happened. They eventually comped our bill, but the lack of communication and the poor customer service do not make me eager to...

Our cravings led us to look up a sushi place in our area, and Google maps mentioned this place! Neither of us had been before and so we thought we’d give it a try! To both of our enjoyment, the place was very nice, with some fun wall art (especially in the bathrooms😉), and a very quaint atmosphere! The service was very pleasant as well, not too pushy, and not too long in between either. It probably did help that we came a little later than the normal dinner rush timeframe. We ordered two sushi rolls, however, the ramen was on both of our minds, so we put in a second order for a bowl to share! The food was absolutely delicious and we kept mentioning how good it was while we chatted and munched. I would definitely recommend the California sushi rolls, but also the ramen as well, you can’t really have one without the other!

Friendly, and chill. The food is great, the service was attentive and inviting. We had the pork belly bun and shrimp tempura buns to start. So good. You get 3 buns with each order so dont be shocked if you order one of each bun and you get six. :) We both liked the pork belly bun a bit more but felt they were both really tasty. We then had 3 sushi rolls: The volcano, the spicy salmon, and the masu rolls. The volcano and spicy salmon both had a little kick, so if you're sensitive to spice you may feel the heat, but it isnt overpowering. Both rolls were small, but pleasing to my taste buds. The masu roll was surprisingly less spicy, imo, than the previous two rolls we tried. However, I really enjoyed the Masu roll quite a bit.
