Chiggers, live-in neighbors, misleading travelocity listing, unable to get linens, rooms weren't ready until an hour after check-in time. I may not need to say more, but I will because people deserve to know what they are getting. The people we had as neighbors, very obviously live there, and that goes for most of the rooms. This place shouldn't be listed on travelocity for $100 per night when 90% of your clientele is "live-in". The listing on Travelocity shows a completely different Motel 6. My husband had to go to the front office to get the pillowcase he had requested three hours before, only to have the employee spend 15 minutes searching to come up with the one he supplied, to which we were very hesitant to use at all because it did not look clean or fresh (we did not use it). The set check-in time is 4 pm. We arrived for check-in at 4:55, and were told that none of the three rooms we purchased, on-line, in advance, were ready. After 5 more minutes, the attendant called the cleaning crew and found out that they did have two rooms clean, although the other would take another 15 minutes (which turned out to be 45 minutes in reality). Once we finally had access to the third room, it was not cleaned or supplied well, we had two wash rags and one towel, three pillows, (for a two double bed room) and there was hair in the shower and toilet. The sink was clean and the beds were made and sheets were clean. That is it. And chiggers (possibly the worst of all). This hotel is pet friendly, and they have grass to walk your pet. I got 95+ chigger bites in the 5 minutes it took for my dog to go potty on their grass, and that isn't counting the amount the other members of my group got, or the animals got. We spent the previous three days out in the woods getting no chigger bites at all and get to a populated area and I get almost 100 bites in 5 minutes. There should be some type of warning, even if it came from the many people who live there as long term stays (with pets of their own) that all want to talk to you every time you come out...
Read moreSummary - Disrepair, mildew, uncomfortable beds, pool so gross it was closed. We pulled up in parking lot in evening daylight and there were a good number of people hanging out on walkways and in parking lot drinking beer, hard liquor and messing about, giving us eyes which made me uneasy. I went into the office and got my key, it was non-descript and the guy behind the desk was OK but not really bubbling with enthusiasm for the job. I was getting really skeptical about the place, so I took the young girls I was traveling with and looked at the room. It was musty inside, the AC had been turned off and this town is very hot and humid. Tile floor was wet with humidity. The beds were horrible super cheap things where you could feel every coil in them, and cheapest possible and skimpy thickness sheet and cover. Bathroom was clean enough but looked almost like a detention center sparse. Kids were jazzed about the prospect of a pool but it was a foot low on water and green with algae. The TV was crappy too. We requested that we be allowed to cancel our reservation, which thankfully they did without fuss. On the way out, we drove around back on the edge of the parking area there was a large pile of old mattresses and other crap that had been removed from rooms, and it looked like it had been there a while. Frankly, while I am all about saving money, this place was far below standards and I was very concerned about all the stuff we were traveling with being there the next day if we parked overnight. There was no breakfast bar, just coffee from the look of the coffeemaker I doubt its good either. We drove up North to Paul's Valley and got a super great room, flat screen, huge breakfast bar, new beds and remodeled, nice bathroom, pool and workout room and everything for just a bit more. I don't recommend this Motel 6 unless maybe you're working pipeline or drilling and just need a place that's super cheap and where you can drink openly with buddies, and you don't want a pool. I have stayed at Motel 6 before, this...
Read moreMy overall stay was great until the next morning. If I could give zero stars, I would. There was a guest named KAREN that apparently is living there for now. KAREN decides to let her gigantic Brown dog run loose without a leash. I encountered this dog racing towards me as I was walking to my vehicle. I began screaming loudly as the dog came closer. All of a sudden, my scream died down as I reached for my smaller luggage. I said, "Come on then, I'm gonna knock you outta the park!" As he got closer, I was ready in my stance to bat this dog into the sky when all of a sudden, KAREN starts racing to get it and put in her SUV. No words said, no apology given. I proceeded to my vehicle and looked back and saw her laughing about it. I got passed and we had words! I didn't cuss her, she cussed me. I asked her rhetorically would I have been wrong if I had a gun and shot the dog? I went in to tell the clerk, Courtney what happened. She apologized and told me KAREN has caused trouble before, this is her final warning, she will be dismissed from the property. Other incidents have occurred with this tenant. Courtney walked me to my vehicle and was very nice and apologized so kindly. I don't know think I will stay here again. I'm not trying to play the racist card but I'm black, KAREN is white and so is Courtney. They are two different people ok. The fact that KAREN laughed about her dog nearly attacking me, made me see and no apology made me view her as racist. What else could I think? I shouldn't have to have gone through this,...
