El Chico Cafe — Restaurant in Ardmore

It was overall a great experience and will probably be back to explore more of the menu. I ordered the Top shelf Fajitas enchiladas on the recommendation of my server.

As I put it to her, if I can only visit here once in my lifetime, what do I order?

It was a very good choice, everything was well cooked and excellent flavours and textures. All temperatures were on point. Service was great and only wish I would of had room for the mouth watering dessert she had described.

Having a big empty lot next door meant I was able to drive my semi truck here for supper tonight. Which is a huge deal when considering where to go for a meal as a trucker.

Minor issues with the salsa, it was flat runny and overwhelming tomato taste. Would liked to have seen and tasted some more chunkier from vegetables like onion, cilantro and a little citrus etc.. Verde or green sauce was also a 1 flavour note. Lacking any full rich flavour and was hotter thanit should be considering they had an even hotter habanero based additional sauce as well if you had really wanted to turn up the heat.

Sorry for nit picking, but was worth a mention as it was a fantastic...

We ate lunch here on a weekend, very slow dining room with a large party and only a couple of other tables besides us. For some reason, the hostess took us all the way to the back and seated us right next to the large party. I didn't want to sit where she put us but the hostess promised they were leaving. They weren't. They left when we did. I had steak fajitas and my husband had a combo plate. He enjoyed his lunch but I didn't think mine was very good for what we paid. The best thing about this lunch was our server - a very nice young man who tried very hard to make sure we were happy. We tipped him double just for his effort. Maybe it was just an off-day for everyone. I'm not ruling out another visit, just not anytime soon. We don't have a lot of money and eating out is a rare treat for my husband and me. Hopefully your dining experience will be a 5-star...

Mediocre service, o.k. food, and not very clean. Ate here for dinner tonight with four coworkers and this place was just bearable but nothing special. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress Miranda tended to our table quickly, gave us drinks and dip, got our order then forgot about us while she chatted away at her only other table. After 10 minutes I got up and grabbed a pitcher and proceeded to pour refills at my table until another waitress noticed and took over. She topped off our drinks and chips as well as apologized for not picking up her coworkers slack earlier. Our food arrived a little while later and it was ok... I guess what you’d expect from a not very busy chain texmex restaurant. Then we got our bill left 15% Hoping they split tips and left. Won’t be...
